In Norh Georgia and had about 95%'ish totality. It was quite a sight. It got quite dark and cooled things off a bit. Very neat experience.

I just got back home to Atlanta after a  round trip drive to Hiawassee (north GA) for a full totality view. Absolutely awesome experience. Was worth taking the day off from work for this. Time now for a good cigar and some reflections from the back deck.

It was quite the experience. After the shadows passed , there were all these young, voluptuous women dancing around in their birthday suits.

Made it to about 99.73% totality http://xjubier.free.fr/en/site_pages/solar_eclipses/TSE_2017_GoogleMapFull.html?Lat=34.37745&Lng=-83.71582&Zoom=9&LC=1

Late start and heavy traffic kept us from reaching our target. Regardless very cool. Got quite dark, crickets came out. Slightest sliver of sun showing behind the moon but no corona.

Smoked my Tampa custom as I'd mentioned I would in the other thread since it's a pretty rare event so calls for a special stick.

ABout 80% in you can see the crescent sun shadows through the trees.

We had a nice picnic, got a lot of sun and a little moon. At least we were ahead of the traffic on the return!

Look here for the strange little moon floating around. It really is there. I just held the iPad looking up at the sky, poolside, with the lens set in reverse.

Just got back from Grand Island Nebraska. Right on the centerline and had 2:38 of the most amazing experience ever. If you are on the planet for the next one, get your self somewhere for totality.

Here is a poor iPhone shot of totality with Venus visible to the right. Unbelievable...

These were pics taken locally, except the one from space of course.:D  Not by me except the picture of the darkness at our house during totality.  The pictures while incredible do not capture what the naked eye can see at totality.  It was a truly moving experience.  One I will never forget.  Next total eclipse near me will be April 8, 2024.  Not to far off and we plan to be there.  Wish we could go to Argentina in 2019.  They will have almost 8 minutes of totality.  The ISS astronauts were the only people to see the Moon's shadow moving across the earth.

63% at 2:47 PM in Boston, MA. Not a whole lot to see this far north.
