backbone
I have some stellar cigars when I'm on top of the world and have had the same cigars that were not so great when I'm down in the dumps. Vacation smokes seem to be the best regardless of band or stature. Anyone notice the same experiences?
Popular Post irratebass
I've never experienced or met anyone that was in a foul mood after a cigar. They may be in a foul mood when they start, but after its over they are almost serene, myself included. Now if you're in a foul mood after smoking a cigar, you're clearly not in this for the right reasons, they are made for relaxation. Danimalia
Yeah, I was discussing this with another member a few days ago. I know there are so many factors that affect my enjoyment of a cigar, and many of them have nothing to do with the cigar. All I can do is try to be cognizant of that when evaluating a cigar. Islandboy
Thankfully I’m missing the gene that causes one to hit the bottle when things go south, so enjoying an alcoholic beverage, or a cigar, is something I only do when my mood is good to begin with. Luckily I can usually find something about most days worth celebrating.
Akela3rd
I tend to smoke to suit my mood so I don't smoke if I don't think I'll enjoy it. Having said that I'll have a cigar if I'm in a good mood and am equally likely to have one if I'm not. Either way my mood doesn't seem to affect the cigar, rather the cigar affects my mood.Thunder & Lightening '75-'15

boilers183
I definitely think mood affects smoking experience. I've found that mood, amount of time available, and weather are three of the biggest factors to my smoking experience. Oftentimes more than the price, appearance, or reputation of a cigar.
rhcolbert
Love having a short smoke after the gym. I'm too heart rates up and not mellow enough for a long smoke. The short smoke right after a workout is just euphoric. Double rush of happy chemicals and makes the rest of the day stellar
PigFish
I think that it would be somewhat foolish to believe that one's mental state does not affect performance, of one's self or his perception of performance of others. With that being said I tend to agree with what others have stated that my mood is often bettered by a cigar, than my smoking experience damaged by it. As a result of my neck surgery, this has been tested a great deal with me lately. I have never been moody, nor required the assistance of 'aids' to correct my 'being.' Having suffered some the worst and most constant pain in my life the past several months has certainly taught me some lessons about pain. Not as much about the severity of it and mood, but the consistency of it and mood, at least in my case. If I am too 'hurt' to smoke, I don't smoke. Smoking does not make my pain go away and can certainly detract from any ancillary enjoyment including smoking. So as pain pertains to mood, I would have to say yes, pain at least can damage my smoking experience. As mood does not tend to bring on pain in me, one follows the other, and mood follows the pain, therefore pain and not mood should get full credit for any change in performance. I prefer to give credit where it is due! -the Pig
treberty
The mood I'm in may somewhat influence how I taste a cigar. My mood, however, will definitely determine which cigar I decide to smoke.
oliverdst
Affect 100%: If I am on a bad mood I dont smoke. Simply cant have a good smoke. I wish I were like many people who smoke and get better.
Smokin Joe
Smoking is a relief for me when I'm in a bad mood. If I have the time I'll take an hour in a park smoke a cigar and watch the world go by. When I'm done the problem is usually bearable even if it's not yet solved.
LLC
Don't think I'm often in a bad mood but more likely stressed or sometimes feel blah, in those cases a cigar will relax and refocus me. If I am in a good mood the cigar doesn't have to be therapeutic but it likely still is, I just don't notice it as much. In any case a great cigar I'll enjoy no matter what my mood because it resets me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

SirVantes
I'm someone who lives inside his own head too much, and cigars are almost exclusively a solitary experience for me. If I'm in a bad mood, having a cigar will guarantee that I start having a conversation with myself about whatever issue was bothering me to begin with, and work me up even more. So I've learnt to avoid it - does no justice to the cigar. Plus I have a weekly cigar ration - by not having a moody cigar I get to have a "free" one sometime during the week. Luca
I agree with@treberty my mood does influence how I enjoy and taste my cigar. It also influences what cigar I will choose. I'm not going to smoke the best in my collection of my favorite smokes. But I still think that even if your in a bad mood or down a cigar let's you think And reflect. I usually like to have my phone off and any other electronic devices out of my grasp. Being outside with nature helps too Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
