Ken Gargett Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 I did this silly quiz for fun – I was a bit scared that it would say I liked sauv blanc. I answered honestly. The result. The quiz told me my preferred white is… Champagne! there is also a link to red wine as well. I did the that one and got Burgundy. Bit spooky - both are pretty much spot on. Now, if it says Rob likes pinot noir, I think we can discount it. http://vinepair.com/white-wine-match-quiz/?utm_source=The+Drop+by+VinePair&utm_campaign=0beceb2a7a-Mar_25_2017&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_b653fb8c99-0beceb2a7a-45021105&goal=0_b653fb8c99-0beceb2a7a-45021105&mc_cid=0beceb2a7a&mc_eid=14ddd54e67
dicko Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 It said Champagne for me. I'll take that!Ken ive been wondering lately why 9/10 wines i drink are red and basically only white with suitable food matches. I love white also but never open one at home to quaff. Maybe its the tannins, maybe its socialisation. Do you come across this with people? I take it you would be close to 50/50 due to being a professional? Sorry for thread hijack hahaSent from my SM-N910G using Tapatalk

planetary Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Results: White: Grüner Veltliner Red: Right Bank Bordeaux Actual preferences: White: Champagne Red: Pinot Noir Conclusion: it's an internet quiz.
SirVantes Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Prosecco?! I'll sue! It's also good fun to choose your least favourite options and see if they come up with your least favourite wine. Malbec
Fuzz Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Champagne? Yeah, nah. Not my favourite. Prefer Riesling. Though, it did say I like Syrah, so got that one right.
archosaur Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 I got Champagne and Napa Cabernet. I do really enjoy Champagne but probably drink 10x the amount of plain old Chardonnay. Probably because I have expensive taste in Champagne. My tastes are pretty diverse in the red department, living in California I am no stranger to Napa Cabs but also enjoy reds from all over the world. Big fan of Italian wine in general, Burgundy (including their whites), and I love a big inky Petit Syrah too.
Colt45 Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Prosecco, Oregon Pinot. The coffee question for reds is lacking - coffee with cream no sugar, thank you. So I don't know if that skewed the red result. Regardless, I do enjoy good prosecco, and Oregon pinot is very good - but very good is fairly pricey. All good fun.
LGC Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Fail. I don't like over the top wines loaded with oak
Dimmers Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 Quiz might be bugged... I answered 'absolutely' to being a vanilla fan, and 'creamy gelato' as choice for dessert. My result was Unoaked Chardonnay - Before you claim you don't like Chardonnay, try one that is unoaked. It will have all the luscious fruit, but none of the creamy vanilla flavors your answers indicate you wouldn't enjoy.
Islandboy Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 Champagne and Burgundy. I don’t drink wine regularly, but I’ve always got more Pinot Noir's on hand than anything else, so Burgundy’s a good bet. But....champagne? I don’t think so.
Schumi5 Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 Champagne and Right-Bank Bordeau for me. Also suggested, Brunello di Montalcino which is my absolute favourite so got to say pretty spot on for me. Surprisingly accurate actually. Thanks for sharing the link!
PatrickEwing Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Champagne and Left Bank Bordeaux (with a tip to Rioja). Expensive quiz.
