Popular Post rhcolbert Posted March 18, 2017 Popular Post Posted March 18, 2017 So just lit up my last lgc tainos. Forgot how damn good these are. Did a search for tainos on the board and had interesting results. almost all the recent hits were in "cigar you miss the most" "no 1 cigar that you'd brink back" or "box/last cigar you can't bring yourself to smoke" type topics. ERDM and LGC littered everywhere in these topics. do we as cigar smokers just not support enough demand? While it could be that, I also feel like the blend of these two brands tainos is truly something special. Maybe they just haven't found the right tobacco to recreate the magic again. So unique, really the flagship stick for me for both ERDM and LGC. since they are so loved and now deceased, I truly feel we need to compile a proper eulogy for these two smokes. 5
gweilgi Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 Never had the pleasure of an ERDM Tainos, but the LGC were amazing. I still have a third of a box, and I am ever so reluctant to smoke them ... Arguably, this sort of issue is one possible advantage of a state-owned and state-run enterprise: they do not constantly stare at the bottom line, nor are they constantly chasing the next blockbuster product. They can afford to maintain a long tail of niche and minority products. Inefficiency can be a boon.... One possible remedy suggests itself: if we as smokers make our voices heard with merchants and importers and so hopefully get either of those sticks back as a Regional Edition.

I remember a discussion I had with a B&M's manager in Paris, in 2003 or 2004; the guy (who is not an "insider") told me that he was sure these cigars (and mild churchills in general) were living their last years… 2
BrightonCorgi Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 I have a 10 box of LGC's that at this point I feel I shouldn't break up until someone wants to pay the world for them. Interesting smoke, very delicate. Was a great first cigar of the day kind of cigar.
Philc2001 Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 The ERDM Tainos was one of the best cigars I've ever smoked, definitely ranks in the top-3. Unfortunately, they stayed with us for such a short time and I had too few of them. I only had a fiver from 2002, but it has stood out in my mind. I wish I could more.
NweakO Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 There is a B&M where I live that has about 30 boxes of the ERDMs that have been laying at the shelves for years. Nobody buys them besides me. And he sells them super cheap compared to the prices offered elsewhere because they don't sell.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
