I should have a handful of fine Cubans in my hands tomorrow. After giving thanks, enjoying the aroma and drooling on them, I will reluctantly put them in their new home. I will let them rest for a minimum of 15 minutes .

I would like to hear what I should expect when i decide to indulge.

I have had one Cuban. It was a Cohiba. I knew it was great from brand recognition and incredibly smooth, but unfortunately didn't appreciate what I was smoking.

The floor is now open to those who would prepare me for what I hope is a wonderful beginning of a long and beautiful journey with cigars from the island.

Let go of apprehension and preconceived notion. They are not panacea.

Great point. I am thinking that the gates of heaven will open and I will know great peace with every puff. Probably need to knock that off.

I would see what notes you can get out of what ever it is you are smoking, then look up a review from FOH to see what Rob and Ken think about it - I find they are usually spot on with the flavour profiles.  (Their pallets match mine at least). I also look at other member reviews to see what their pallet is picking up. That way you might be able to pick out some notes that you were not really paying attention to. Other than that just kick back and enjoy!

You could get 25 different experiences in a box of 25. I would say just go in open minded and no expectations, taking notes the whole time

Is there a noticeable nicotine difference? I had the spins once early on with an a f cigar. Not very enjoyable. Something I should be concerned about?

For me yes, Hoyo being the mildest and some bolivar being the strongest(bbf).  I Smoke a bunch of Coro and Conny A and both are medium to me

Every now and then, the choirs will sing - but it is not a consistency. They are not magic, but can be magical. If you are anxious, you will suffer anxiety.....

They are cigars.

Fill us in on what you will be receiving and what your thoughts are on what you will be tackling first, and why?

What is the box code?  You really need to have some age on them before you indulge.......

Here's what I have on the way.

2009 H. Upmann Magnum 50
2015 H. Upmann Magnum 46
2015 H. Upmann Connoisseur A
2016 H. Upmann No. 2
2016 Hoyo De Monterrey Epicure #2
2016 Diplomaticos No. 2
2016 Trinidad Vigia
2015 Punch Punch

From an age perspective, it would make sense to try the 09 Upmann. I am also in the Diplimatico. I want to try a cigar that is more full than what I usually smoke. Good or bad, I am a fan of Perdomo. I like most of the Ashtons as well.

I would think the mag 46 is probably the strongest. The recent Diplo 2 were in el Pres's list of best cigars end of 2016. And I have had good luck with them. I don't find them very strong though, more medium.

They will all be horrible.  Don't waste your time.  Divert all cigars to peachtree city, GA please. ?

I'd say the punches and upman no 2 should smoke best fresh.  I've never had a mag 50 with more than 6 months on it. Can't keep em around that long. I'll bet they're excellent. I've noticed mag 46 tend to change significantly with age, probably more so than anything with the exception of the trinidad you've got. Nice selection, I doubt you will be disappointed.

Expect to have no disposable income. Just get used to rageddy clothes and shoes, an old ailing mode of transport, unfinished DIY projects,...it will take over your life.
