1LegLance Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 This is to inquire of anyone who has recently been in Havana if they have seen any of the literature Habanos used to create on the history/making of cigars? In past trips I was able to get a little kit that had a size chart, measuring guide (ring guage/length) and a booklet. I was curious if anything like that still exist? We will be on a family trip to Cuba next week and one of my goals is to find any promotional literature or books I can. Thanks in advance. 1
Smallclub Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 If that literature existed, it would be found in LCDHs worldwide, exactly like the booklet you mention. 1
chris12381 Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 I remember what you're talking about. I haven't seen it around in a while. I also remember they used to sell a package of about 12 Habanos posters. 1 of which had almost every vitola produced. Over the last year I made two trips to Havana and was unable to find that kind of thing anymore. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
PigFish Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 ... should now come on a 'branded, double banded' thumb drive. In this way one can keep track of all the 'here today and out tomorrow' regionals and other BS cigars! It would also help all those interested in making frauds and taking further advantage of the consumer who buy Beanie Baby cigars! Cuban traditions are out the door folks. You don't build strong traditions by making 10000 cigars, dressing them up, shipping them late, making them new and outdated at the same time and further expanding a market for the fraudulent cigar makers. I have one positive to add. No one is knocking off the cigars I usually smoke. -Piggy 1
BrightonCorgi Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Contact your regional Habanos distributor ask for promo material. The Habanos branded metal tubes, matches, and bags are nice to have on hand.

Lists which marcas have each vitola. Was printed in UK if memory serves me right. I have not looked at in a long time. I have it framed, but it's at my other house at the moment. I need to transport to my primary home and re-frame it in a different color wood. Decor is different between the houses.

Living in Phoenix Arizona makes it a bit tough to contact my regional Habanos distributor I will take some pics of what I have at the house for folks to see if nothing else. And of course report back on what I am told when we are in Havana next week.

They are not banned products since I doubt any were actually made in Cuba.
1LegLance Posted February 28, 2017 Author Posted February 28, 2017 It is funny you mentioned banned products....Literature and such have never been restricted as I had the pleasure of showing a Customs guy years ago when I brought back the literature I have now, another couple books and such from a Cuba trip. But it will be interesting to write some letters and see what happens.
