San Diego is a most excellent city. Just one of those places that's a pleasure to be in. When I used to drink, I loved all the great craft beer spots down there. There are a few FOH members from that area as well.

I usually enjoy crossing the border and hitting the LCDH, the racetrack/casino, and a few of my favorite restaurants on the Mexican side when I'm visiting SD as well.

YELLOW SPOT! Forget the bourbon!

Spent a couple of weeks in Ireland last year golfing the Southwest corner of the country. Was an amazing trip and beautiful country. And while I tried and tried to understand the love for Yellow Spot, it just never blew my skirt up ... so to speak. Lol.

Either my palate isn't refined enough to appreciate it ... or my palate demands something far more bold. Either way, I'm a bourbon man for sure! Much deeper, darker and bolder for me. But I guess that's why there are so many liquors to choose from.

Cheers!

We were in Ireland last year too. That is where I lost my heart to Yellow Spot. Cannot get it in Canada.

But this urge is satisfied.

As for bourbon, in love and drank two glasses of the Old Forester at the restaurant we went to last night and LOVED IT.

Have now traveled up to San Francisco. Our host has a special store in mind for me. Might not be until tomorrow night or the next day.

I shall report.

He better take you to K&L Wines... Their new San Francisco store is supposed to be awesome. I always go to the Redwood City store since it's closer to me.

Glad to here you enjoying life Lisa. And I am with you in regards to Yellow Spot. My Son brought me a bottle from California a few months back and I loved it. Of Course I have a soft spot for all whiskies. If only I could convince the LCBO to love whiskies as much as I do then maybe they would carry a better variety. Or maybe I will keep bugging the Politicians ( in Ontario ) to privatized the LCBO's and at least IO could get what I want. Okay my little rant is over. Enjoy your Holidays Lisa.

For the heck of it

OX Fuente Fuente. Nice park bench smoke I guess but I see a box is going for $400-$500 USD. We paid $18. Petit corona or even smaller.

Different smoke experience in travel, ok.

Sitting near sign that says no smoking. Better.

Told drunk dude who wanted to chat, sorry I am working. Best.

We will check out K&L too. Thanks. I shall report.

Pick up their Smooth Ambler Old Scout pick (9yr or 10yr). Healthy Spirits is pretty good.

Here's a surprise find! In the Fairmont Hotel San Francisco, a fellow with a similar name to us, Bruce Rothenberg, owns a cool store:

Vendetta Men's Apparel
and Vintage Cuban Cigars
The Fairmont San Francisco
950 Mason St.
San Francisco, CA 94108
415 397-7755

We chatted for a while about cigars, lighters, cutters and clothes. He remembered talking to me last year by email and how I was an illustrator. Nice guy! There is even a little spot to smoke at the back.

The Fairmont has a bar downstairs called The Tonga. Apparently a place you "should go to before you die", says a site online. Not open just yet but we are waiting...

I see is display says "pre embargo".  If so I'd imagine they cost a pretty penny. Or does he use that sign to keep the heat off him for selling post embargo goods.?
