Yes, and that means that these young guys now must be given 'a run' as they will fail. The fact is that the Australian team has lost 6 players to retirement (Clarke, Watson, Haddin, Harris, Johnson, Hussey) and it will take time to make up for that loss in experience.
PigFish Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 ... for a brief moment, I thought this might be about bugs that chirp!!! -LOL -Piggy

To rub salt into the wounds, so to speak, @Ken Gargett, I found out a few days ago that Matthew Wade is colour blind, which is just handy considering the next test is a day-night game played with a pink ball!
JohnS Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 Well...Jackson Bird's cricket career has come full circle in the space of a month. Rod Marsh favoured Joe Mennie in Hobart on account of his 'better' batting, and subsequently Bird was batting in the top six at first-class level for Tasmania, now since head selector Marsh has gone, Bird finds himself in the starting XI at Adelaide for today's game.
Ken Gargett Posted November 24, 2016 Author Posted November 24, 2016 interesting start. yet another bowler, starc and i know that the aussies not the only ones but hell's bells, costs his side a wicket by overstepping. insane. good catch by renshaw. very rare to see a player on debut take up a spot at first slip, especially if he is a 20 year old kid. they must think highly of him. interesting stat - in the last 15 combined innings by the two south african openers, they have only passed 25 twice (once each - for one ton and one fifty). we should be capitalising on such poor starts.
JohnS Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 Another interesting stat - first time ever in Test Cricket history that batters 2, 3 and 4 dismissed for 5. Starc lbw...yeah, unforgivable really. Even contest at tea with SA 3-89 after being 3-44. Renshaw at 1st slip, with players like Bob Simpson, Greg Chappell, Mark Taylor and Shane Warne there in the past, I agree, they must think very highly of him.
