telstra - world's most incompetent company

Recommended Posts

dear old telstra. hard to imagine they aren't some weird reality show where the most idiotic morons win the day. and may i say that if anyone works for telstra and is offended by this post, i offer absolutely no apology whatsoever as if you have chosen to abandon any pretence to dignity and self-respect then that is your own look-out and you should crawl off into a cave in the middle of nowhere and never emerge.

my mobile phone is soon to expire. telstra advise they are sending a new one (presumably so i don't go elsewhere and discover that it is possible to not be the most hapless joke in the corporate world). it never turns up.

so today i ring - in case it is being used elsewhere or at least to find out what is happening - and of course, i have to go through the whole rigmarole of birthdates and addresses and numbers and names and crap. only to be cut off.

i try again and get someone, but the whole rigmarole and more again, both to get through and then to her. eventually she decides it is too difficult and i have to be transferred. that always goes well. same rigmarole etc etc. i am assured it was delivered on 26th august to a person called sheann. i point out i was in europe and the house was locked up. oh dear. we go back and forth and on and on. she keeps putting me on hold to go off and find out new things. eventually she assures me that she will ring me back within 3-5 minutes so please stay off the phone. it will be very quick. these days, two cans (because you'd be better off with two cans and a string than these gibberers) sends you a link so you can get back to the person.

after three hours, not a dickie bird. nada. so i hit the link. i get a note that they'll ring me within 45 minutes. miraculously they do. turns out the person who promised to ring me apparently then went home, so i get a new person. oh joy! we do the rigmarole, even though they rang me. she then has to advise me that this call will be recorded and used for training purposes. it is too much.

really?

what do you mean?

you use these for training? do you have a 'how not to do things' class because that would feature just about every call i have ever had with you lot.

needless to say, things are not going well.

she digs out the file. ah, so this is about billing.

what? holy crap. i explain yet again.

so not billing?

back to hold. been back and forth to hold so many times....

she decides all too difficult. needs to be transferred. i get cut off. they actually call back - i'm stunned at that.

now, we are only sending this package to certain clients blah blah. are you one of them? i have an email saying you are sending me the package. i would guess yes. she can't find me. back to hold again and again.

comes back to assure me that no one else is using my new phone. yes, i point out, including me.

i am currently on hold at this very moment.

who the hell knows what will happen.

I hate Telstra so much, they used to be a tenant of mine, treated their staff like utter crap.

Every day, I watched how their staff would be sacked left right and center, after one month, I went home and had my ex wife change her service provider to anyone else but those morons.

I am now with iiNet, have been with them now 10 years, never looked back.

Come on Ken, ditch these chumps so we can stop hearing about them and then you only need to ditch Springstein and we can all be hassle free. :D

bruce is safe. sadly, where i live (brizzy suburbs), these idiots think they can't provide service, even tho they sort of do. so no one else can because they think they can't piggyback off telstra.

I know your pain all too well, Ken. I recently changed my work mobiles and landlines/internet to Optus. Suffice it to say, the porting experience so far has been so poor, they gave me 2 months free on my accounts as an apology. Mind you, I had to go to the TIO to make Optus see it my way.
