brilliant stuff - especially the encore. only thing i'd add is that because the night was actually written by bruce (with assistance from patti smith) and he allowed her to use it for wild horses, i think (might be wrong on the album). one of my absolute fave bruce songs.

That's what I have heard as well. It's one one of my favorites as well.

That playlist about three concerts worth for most bands today, awesome.

last concert in Brizzy - a few minutes short of four hours, as far as i am aware, that is where he started the string section THING (had 10 hot girls in long black evening gowns playing violin - first for 'staying alive' (first song, being brizzy) and then later. just wow! had played a heap and then held a vote as to whether people wanted to hear the full 'wild innocent....'. OH YES, WE DID!

brizzy was also where he played his forst open air large concert - in March 85 (the 17th, i think).

You sound like a fan Ken!

I wasn't there Tuesday either, but will be there next Tuesday.  Having lived all but 5 years of my life on the Jersey Shore, I have have been lucky enough to see him many, many times.  My favorite ever was when he went on stage at a local bar, Key Largo, Belmar, NJ (no longer around), and sang 3 songs with the reggae band performing that night.  My Hometown reggae style was awesome!  Especially after quite a few G&Ts.  Wow, that was like 30 years ago, oh to be young again!

i probably qualify as a moderately interested fan. his last two tours here i managed to get to a number of the shows all over australia.

so many stories about him playing impromptu concerts and joining shows. would so love to see that. i did make a pilgrimage to freehold and the boardwalk many years ago. and the stone pony but it was shut (well, it was 9 in the morning and the guys i was travelling with were not great fans so we could not wait).

one of the other guys made us do the pilgrimage to bangor maine as that is apparently where stephen king lives. i ducked off to the post office while this bloke went wandering the streets, just in case. in comes an obviously well-known local author with his latest manuscript to send to the publishers (it was a long time ago, pre internet). no idea if it was him but everyone was a bit reverential around him and my mate nearly collapsed when i told him.
