Colt45 Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 This is my goofy way of describing a lighter I'd like to have, but does not exist (that I know of). But also, what members would like of a bespoke cigar igniter I'm a big fan of Zippos, so for me, a Zippo armor, but one third larger in each dimension. This is so that the Vector Thunderbird torch insert would also be larger, allowing for increased butane capacity. I'm also a sucker for sterling silver, so it would made of, or at least clad in sterling. Undecided on specific carving / ornamentation, etc - but there would be some.... Like many, i can and do make do - but that's what I'd like, and curious if any members would also "design their own".

jwr0201 Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 Colt... Very nice sounding lighter! I also love the old Zippos and my fav is an old brass armor. Maybe add a solid brass distressed model to your design line! 1
Blazer Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 Something like this Barney Ross signature? It's funny, now that I'm a cigar guy when watching TV its amazing to me that everyone has a zippo in their pocket that they whip out when they are in a dark place or about to set a fire, event though none of them smoke.
laficion Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 Thanks Ross but above all, I would like a torch lighter THAT WORKS for at least a year Instead of buying right away a Bic lighter after. Guy

Guy Guy, I've had great luck with my Zippo with a Vector Thunderbird torch insert. The only "problem" is that I wish it held more fuel, which is why I'd like a Zippo that was about a third larger in each dimension. 1
oliverdst Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 In a related subject, there is a competition to design a "cigar chair". I will try to remember the website and create another thread.

Damn, do I gotta splain it to you everthin? Barney Ross, AKA, Sylvester Stallone's character in The Expendables. Say what you want about the movies, It sure looks he and AHnold are having fun smoking Cubans on someone else' dime.
demer Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 I want a good quality soft flame thats not 600+ dollars.

Lasabar Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Ummmmm, if you look at the chair pictures on the link provided they lit a D4 backwards. This AFICIONADO chair tells you to light the head of your cigar! 3

El Presidente Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 I will let Smithy know about the competition. He will loveit. Personally, nothing beats the bean bag below. Normally comes complete with scantilly clad lady who cuts, lights and ashes your cigar. ......have seen it somewhere in a prior life. Many....many...many....moons ago.

airtrade Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Not sure if it's possible but a inexpensive lighter, pocket sized that could change from soft flame to torch as needed.

Amen to this. A soft flame with more pressure maybe adjustable but not so much more than enough to hold a straight flame at any angle.
Hypersomniac Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Maybe it's just me but I just tossed my vector thunderbird insert. Couldn't get the dang thing to light.
