Out of interest (and I get a few e-mails a day on the subject), has anyone seen the following available for retail sale or have any information on the likely release date?

I do ask PCC/HSA and get the equivalent of "crickets chirping" as a response ;)

Romeo y Julieta Wide Churchill Gran Reserva 2009

Cohiba Medio Siglo

(The Mythical)  Montecristo 80th

Hoyo De Monterrey Elegantes (Perfecto).

I'm sure I read that there were a few Montecristo 80ths being handed out at an event in Portugal at the start of the year. Although as the 80th anniversary has now been well and truly missed I am expecting to see them released as an Anejados for Montecristos 90th. It will be interesting to see the box dates when they do surface.

"Many" 80th singles.

WAY more than one could reasonably expect - I don't trust them at all.

You're not wrong.  B)

Haven't seen any of the others, but I'm somewhat curious about the RyJ GR, I always like to try the Reservas and Gran Reservas, if they're not obscenely priced.

Re: Romeo y Julieta Wide Churchill Gran Reserva 2009, I was at Habana Libre LCDH 3 weeks ago and saw something odd.

Red cardboard boxes in the humidor. When I asked, I was told that these were "Romeo y Julietta cigars in a 'plastic' humidor".

I should have taken a peek, but I had a lot of other cigars on my hands. A couple of us have been speculating to what these could have been? Possibly the GR in red cardboard exterior boxes (instead of the usual black) this year? Possible Julietas box? - I know they only come in small plastic packs, but never heard of boxes

...We've searched and there has been nothing we've found that comes in a humidor.

Anyone who can chime in on the red boxes, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.

Oh, and re: Cohiba Media Siglo or Montecristo 80th - no sign of them yet (at least in the shops)  in Cuba.

A mate from Toronto posted this image on Facebook. I don't know any details on the Monte 80th...

I saw the same plastic RyJ humidor at the LCDH in Cancun a couple weeks ago while on vacation. Looked to be a travel case or something similar. I thought I saw the RyJ Gran Reserva as well, but I may be mistaken...

I presume these are the short Churchill travel retail humidor. From habanos website:

Wow that's an odd presentation. I'm thinking you're right on that.

Fantastic to finally have an answer. Thank you!

That thing looks less than pretty to me - remember the awesome presentation of the Upmann travel humi by comparison...

upon seeing that photo I was thinking "rebranded Xikar" on a good day, and "lunchbox" on a bad day. I made that observation on a bad day.
