ElReyDel757 Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 I am new to habanos & have researched this as much as possible. I have read that beetle holes will be perfectly round. Can you guys please put my mind at rest? I don't think this is beetle damage due to the shape of the damage/nick shown in the 1st image & I don't see any other signs. I didn't inspect all 25 cigars, but so far only 1 seems to have this damage, but most have raised, water beads or bulged areas that seem like "worts", as shown in the 2nd image.
JohnS Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 You've got nothing to worry about, just a nick (or two) in the wrapper. Smoke away!
CigarSeeker Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 Like John said, smoke away! I don't see any concerns.
seattledude Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 I have only seen beetle hole ones. I ordered from this one online vendor hoping for a good box.... and what I got is the worst looking RASS 50 Cab or for the matter of fact worst Cuban Cigars I have seen in my life. Bunch of cracked, damaged and split wrappers. Wrappers looked like they came from garbage. Packed in thin bubble mailer and on top of it all it came with couple beetle holes. I will NEVER order from that vendor again and this was my lesson. (I got refunded for this after return, but the point is this box was supposedly inspected... I am not sure what they inspected it for...) I value Robs and Crews grading and attention to details and absolutely amazing packaging and shipping and customer service. Buying from Rob is the only way to go. I am sure this box wouldn't even make to sale not even seconds to double tripple seconds. This Garbage needed to be sent back to Cuba. Ok I am done with venting =) Carry on. 1
Fuzz Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 It's not a beetle hole. HSA are now adding "exhaust vents" to keep your cigar from smoking too hot. 1
LLumley Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 Yep, beetles for sure. Ill PM you my address, send them over for proper disposal and outbreak prevention. Thank you! KIDDING! Nothing wrong there!
