jwr0201 Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 El Prez ia spot on with his description of the recently offered PLPC's. Open with a rush of flavors that are relatively strong - very nice. Mellows a bit after a half inch or so and keeps up good flavors. Good burn, good draw, very nice performance. Earthy, grass, bit of twang and not too mild. What's not to love here? Not a lot of mongrel - more of a young brash pup! Damn good little cigar! 1
potpest Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 I just don't get this... I love PCs, I like all other other PL vitolas, especially the Picadores. But I keep trying The PLPCs and they do nothing for my palate. I still think its one of those cigars "I haven't had a good one" yet, but I'm beginning to lose faith in my tastebuds.
NSXCIGAR Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 I do enjoy the PLPC. 14 and 15 production have been very good--all EML codes, but I did see an EAG MAY 15 code float by as well. My only complaint with the PLPC is that they are just not complex enough when young. It really takes at least 2-3 years for those caramel and earthy flavors to start to come out. An aged PLPC is really a treat. I do appreciate that they are a bit punchier when young, but I'm always left thinking how much better the PLPC would be with 3+ years on it. I just find myself gravitating to more ready-when-young cigars like the Boli CJ/PC, El Principe and Monte 4/5. 1
stogieluver Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 They're pretty good young, but do get much better with a few years on them. One of my favorites. 2
irratebass Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Good smokes, I believe they were my 1st CC...love at 1st smoke heh
theholmesmob Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 PLPC will always have a place in my rotation. In fact, have one in the golf bag this morning to spark up on the back nine to bring me home. Regardless of how I'm playing, the cigar helps make the round enjoyable!!

Be careful with that salmiac-liquorice, mate!
PointFivePast Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 PLPC is always a solid choice. They slowly grew on me until I finally bought my first cab a few months back. Looking forward to working through them over the next few years to really get a good idea of how they progress with age.
BCC107 Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Just picked up a few of these. After reading these comments, I'm thinking I might need to break into the stash sooner rather than later. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
losttrailer Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 . . . I'm thinking I might need to break into the stash sooner rather than later. . . . would suggest later rather than sooner. These really do benefit from aging more than others in most cases imho and going throught a '07 box since 3 years keeps me thinking they were still getting better.
BCC107 Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 . . . would suggest later rather than sooner. Thanks for the advice! I just have ten at the moment from a '14 cab. Sounds like I could do worse than to pick up a full cab to put away for a nice long sleep.
luv2fly Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 One of my favorites. Good when young but with age.....WOW!!!! Great cigar.
jwr0201 Posted May 16, 2016 Author Posted May 16, 2016 I'm definitely going to have to get more to put away, as there is not a chance the 36 or so I have now will last for any time! I cannot even imaging these getting even better - one good cigar!
earthson Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 These more than most others have taught me patience. I don't smoke them young anymore as they transform so well. Have had one lone '08 staring me in the face for too long now - he keeps looking at me that way, I'm gonna set him on fire! (It's even got the crimp from the ribbon, which are somehow the best in the cab). I do tend to smoke the Monte Carlos younger (3 years on) as they seem ready sooner. Actually, I prefer that vitola too!
HH123 Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Love them! Always keep boxes of these on hand, been smoking through my '13's lately, fantastic esp when time is an issue.
FLB03TT Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Montecarlos do seem to come around sooner- at around 2 years. PLPCs really need, pushing, 3 years to start to shine. Definitely worth the wait!
Habana Mike Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Just got a cab of early 13 in from the locker and first one was dead on! Doubt these will see the 2017.....
gojira Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 I had my first PLPC a couple of days ago and will definitely add a cab to my stock soon.
finecigar Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 PLPC is awesome, so is PLMC - two of the best everyday smokes to enjoy with a few years of age on them. 3-5 years seems to transform PL
