wade1979 Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 I heard this on the way home. Very sudden. Prince was part of the soundtrack to my school and college years. An unbelievable songwriter, singer, musician and performer. I think he really was one of those "once in a generation" talents. One of my favourite performances of his, although there's not much on YouTube, is at a George Harrison memorial gig. Tom Petty and the usuals doing a fairly boring version of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" with note for note guitar breaks. Then Prince comes along about 3:25 and wakes everyone up with one of the best guitar solos I've ever heard. Vastly underrated guitarist. Love how he walks off the stage in the is video, thanks for putting it up. Confidence with the chops to back it up.
joeruby Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Very sad news, he had huge presence in the 80's and 90's, not to mention the many songs he has written for other artists. RIP
bugman78629 Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Sad..... We're hearing it was Heroin . Hope that wasn't the case, either way RIP Prince
Bartolomeo Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 RIP Prince....a man that was mis-understood a lot but had more talent in his pinky finger than most artists today....his music got us dancing and put us in a great mood no matter the situation #RIPPrince 1
Shikar Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Grew up in my teenage years hearing him in Pakistan. Amazing amazing talent. They cannot make more like him. What a loss. :-(
