wabashcr Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Thanks for sharing. I find it interesting that Hirochi seems to have quite a bit of say in what strains of tobacco he grows. I know the Robaina family is royalty, but my understanding was that they grew a lot of the premium wrapper leaf on their farm. Would think that makes planning and production pretty difficult if he decides to grow something different. Maybe the Corojo 2012 isn't used as wrapper, and the wrapper is shade grown? Can anyone shed some insight on this? Very curious.
busdriver Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Gives me hope that if the family continues to be influential and leaders in the industry that the Brand will continue! Love my Unicos!
westg Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 How nice does that look ...nice fat ripe crop coming . Awesome
LLC Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Great article Jose. Spending time a few years ago at the farm sitting with Hirochi enjoying a cigar and talking to him with the help of an interpreter was a one of the best moments in all my trips to Cuba.
frenchkiwi Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Another great post from our "man on the inside". [if you look carefully in first pic you can see him hiding between the leaves lol] Gracias Jose.
