36 degrees right now. While stifling, I love this weather spotlight.gif

Now I know that hot weather is not everybodies thing....bit for those that do love a scorcher.....what is yor favourite cigar for the late afternoon shade to accompany your favourite simmer tipple (Mojito/ice tea..whatever)?

I find it hard to go past an HDM Epicure 1 or SLR A when the heat is "on". A Molinos also hit's the spot.

..and cigar 101 folks. Wear pants.

While it is nice to smoke in your undies....hot ash is quite unforgiving as I have just found out whistle.gif

SLR A definitely.

Molinos absolutely.

They are actually my two picks.

HDM are too creamy for me. Sort of like that whole 'milk was a bad choice' scenario.

Honourable mention to Cuaba though. Suits the heat.

We get maybe a handful of those days a year, and if I'm not working, I love every precious second of that weather!

I take the opposite approach and go for the full sweat-out with a good 898, or a Boli CG paired with buckets of rum or beer!

Something well acclimated to the conditions, makes the burn better. In Saigon I turn off the A/C in my hotel room when I go to the office, so my cigars 'wet box' for the week to high heat/high humidity conditions and when I light them up outside they burn sooooo much better than when I was trying to keep them at 65/65 right up to ignition.

I've had the best luck with Partagas Series E #2's, they seem slightly under filled and maybe that's why they handle the humidity so well. And like Rob and Rye, I've had good luck with longer sticks: Lusi's, HDM and Punch DC's and the Encantos. I'm guessing the length helps keep it a cooler smoke maybe.

My favorite corona gordas and robustos (Punch, Epi2 and PSD4) struggle the most in high heat and humidity: the Punch get plugged and the robustos get bitchy and sharp. I briefly tried PC's, and they adapted to conditions the quickest but lost the most flavor and seemed hotter than E2's and the others.

I also enjoy the SLR A but love them all year long. I'm also partial to a nice aged ERDM or QDO when the heats on because we drink a lot of 'bubbly' and they go great with it (especially with a few years on em for that citrus).

Don't know who in the heck recommended the sparkling wine (Ken maybe) but it goes a treat!

You channeling your inner Ken smoking a cigar in your undies Rob?

Depends on the humidity. If its hot AND humid, I'm going with a smaller cigar. if it's just really hot I usually reach for a robusto of some kind.

I prefer DCs when its no so humid the cigar won't be like a damp rag in 20 minutes and when the weather isn't so hot it sucks to be outside.

I agree. High heat and humidity kills cigars. I avoid lighting up in these conditions... just like freezing weather. I'd rather stay cool indoors and drink cool cocktails.

A beautiful hot and dry day here today!

36 c (95 f) and a low 20% RH. Smoking cigars, and drinking beer is awesome!

Forecast to be even hotter tomorrow, and it's not even Summer yet!

I just love how Rye simply disregards your PSA with reckless abandon

Honestly, I've never thought about it...but it was 36°C around 7 pm in Sydney tonight and this Caipirinha cocktail and San Cristobal de La Habana El Principe were a glorious combination. I think this was the sweetest cocoa stick I've ever had, and with the relative humidity at an average 25% while I was smoking, each draw produced a wonderful volume of smoke! cigar.gif

Ditto on Johns weather here in Sydney...and as unmanly as a chilled Rose is, it went a treat with a JL2 followed by a PL Montecarlo...

Spot on John, the weather here tonight was fantastic cigar weather. Had a PSD4 followed by a HUHC. Had a few scotch and sodas to go with it. Great night.

Tomorrow looks to be the same so looking forward to a cracker Friday night!

In Melbourne it can be hot and not so humid. I love a scorcher too, even though I'm a ginger top. Just so long as I am not walking fast or catching public transport. I like how everything slows down. Recently I have enjoyed ERDM Choix Supreme on a hot day, not quite a 36 degree scorcher. I reckon this cigar would work well in dry heat with a nice cold beer and a bit of a sit in the shade. It did the trick in a 30 degree day. Dry boxing helps too. I have enjoyed Punch Punch on hot days but had not so good experiences when the cigar is too moist on humid or wet days. Damn, these pretzels are making me thirsty. party.gif

Has to be a BPC or PLPC. The humidity here summer can really be a beast. I find that 30-40 minute smokes make it through. Humidity in the 80s and dew points in the 70 range makes for a sticky day.

It has to be about 40 degrees here in Sydney at the mo. Started off with a Connie No1 and half way through a Partagas E2. Plentiful amounts of smoke but the Partagas goes better with a cooler evening.
