El Presidente Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Poor bugger bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee and has been screwed around no end over 2 years. We have no lemon laws in Australia. I have a 15 model of the same car and it has been flawless....but I feel his pain after my previous Jeep experience. Anyway....he can't drive his car. It goes into limp mode every time it hits 100k an hour and that is the least of it's problems. So after dealing with the Chrysler stealerships, the useless Australian Consumer law Commission and getting royaly shafted......he flew to Melbourne and made this video with mates which has gone viral. Love his work 2
Ken Gargett Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 you have to admire the guy. good on him.
eswary Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Funny. I as well bought a '15 Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4, but I love it. I suppose all manufacturers, cigars included have the "good, bad, and the ugly". Just too bad he's not getting good service at the service station. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Overproof Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 ...Oops. I bought a Jeep Bloody bullies. 1
Miner Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 I have had mine for 4 years. Stuff started failing after the 3 year warranty expired. This year the master brake cylinder failed along with one front shoc, the blower fan, tyre pressure sensor, fuel pump. When the fan died, Jeep wanted to charge me $100 for the diagnostic to tell me the fan wasn't working! Then add $250 for the repair and $800 for a new fan. My local auto elec got a fan from a 1 year old crash write-off ($300) and fitted it for $100. The only off road the Jeep has seen is when I drive it on the lawn to wash it. It has 50k km on the clock. Oh then there's the 5 recalls during its first 3 years. This is my 4th Jeep, I don't think I'll be getting a 5th one. 1
JohnS Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 In 2007 an Australian band, The Potbelleez, released a hit single titled, "Don't Hold Back". It's well known in Australia as the song that accompanies Jeep commercials. The lyrics of the chorus are: "Don't hold back, is there anybody out there feeling something?" After reading this thread I feel I can confidently answer that question...RAGE!

Colt45 Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 2002 Liberty. Closing in on 250,000 miles. Best vehicle I've ever owned. But, mine was made in the U.S....
brschoppe Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 I am a Toyota guy, but have been seeing more and more people picking up Jeeps. I wonder if Fiat has been streamlining everything and putting better quality checks into place?
Duxnutz Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Probably broke it making it right hand drive.

Hope you got yours in for the gas tank recall! If not, I'd suggest looking into it right away, as the gas tank fault has killed 50+ people in that model. 1

Never thought of you as a Jeep Liberty guy. Does your wife carry your purse for you??? Just joshing ya, Ross. But seriously...LOL. A Liberty simply has the 7-slotted front grill and the Jeep namesake badge to try to get men to buy it. Otherwise, it's a Chrysler SUV that WANTS to be a Jeep. It's a Jeep that girls buy to try to "look tough" and have a wannabe SUV. And if it weren't for the "Liberty" name (like "Patriot", and other Jeep model names lately), I don't think Americans would have been otherwise fooled by it's "cute-ute" nature.

Keith, I don't know what libertys you've driven, but the one I've had for over a decade has been stout and never let me down.

Are they still made just outside Toronto? Several years ago my full time job was hauling car parts from Mexico to keep assembly lines going.

klassikkasp Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I was thinking of getting an older 2008 srt8 jeep gran Cherokee
sikfrayme Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I am on my second Jeep Grand Cherokee, I had the 2012 Grand Cherokee OVerland and decided to get the SRT in 2014. Havent had any problems with either one.
NCPANTHERZFAN Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 The problem is you bought the wrong type of Jeep. This is what a Jeep is supposed to be! 1
El Presidente Posted November 16, 2015 Author Posted November 16, 2015 Loved my 2007 JK! ..that was once I sorted out the steering death wobble (two years) and had them fix the fuel tank. Chrysler saw it appropriate to fit normal petrol fuel tanks to diesel models. Of course....it took 20 minutes to fill a diesel tank up as diesel requires a different filler neck. They acknowledged the problem on all models after denying it for ...again...two years.
