Hey everyone,

Im just curious to see how many cigars you are all smoking a day and what do these smokes usually consist of?

As for me, currently 1-2 a day max of a d4 or a nc frank llaneza 1961 dc. Very good cigar for the money.

Cheers,

Matthew

Here's a recent thread about smoking frequency you might find helpful.

As for what I'm smoking the most of right now I'm kind of hooked on JLP Petit Cetros right now. They're so cheap and so good that I can just plow through them all day with no remorse!

What do they taste like to you and how long does a typical smoke last you?

The JLPs are pretty much clean tobacco taste with very pleasant grassy and herbal flavors. Medium and very flavorful. Not complex but very enjoyable, even more so at a buck-fifty each.

The Petit Cetros is a 38 x 5.0" and lasts me about 45 mins but I'm a slow smoker.

I too have been enjoying JLP's for just this reason. Clean tobacco with a hint of Cuba. So cheap you can burn them dawn to dusk and still spend less than a coffee at your local cafe.

If you're going to go with something like say the Quintero Favoritos....

They are an affordable Cuban smoke at about 140 for a box of 25

How many of them are going to be really ugly?

I'm two cigars per day on Tuesdays and Thursdays and any golfing day when I'm home (San Francisco), and 2-3 cigars/day when I travel to Asia or Europe (you know, the civilized places!) :cigar: My standard fare is Punch Punch, Siglo IV or Hoyo Epi 1, with plenty of departures into the land of Churchil (BCG, R&J, Sir Winnie) and the frequent DC (Punch, Hoyo). I seem to have left the land of Robusto far behind and need to rectify that situation post haste.

Cigars like that allow you to really smoke all day long! I kind of re-discovered JLP and I'm happy I did. The Favoritos are getting some pretty good reviews lately but at more than double the price of most JLPs I just can't do it.

Reminds me of why I loved Los Statos back in the day and how many of those I smoked. No nonsense, flavorful, Cuban taste and cheap. I've always believed a complex cigar is wasted if you don't have sufficient time or concentration to appreciate them. And the JLP profile is pleasant enough so that I never get bored or tired of it. Sure, they look crappy and some can be a bit underfilled or have a bit of a tighter draw but 20/25 are good and they all burn well. I've yet to have a totally plugged one.

I honestly don't think I've ever had a NC better than these cheap JLPs. Even if I had, I promise you they'd cost more than a dollar fifty!

Smoking these let's me conserve my premium marcas to maybe one a day or less and allowing the right time and place to enjoy them.

3-5/ day recently. Right now it's Parti Shorts and PL PIcadores...a couple weeks ago it was PLPs and Mag46s...before that it was PLPCs and Asian RE LFdC Grandiosos. I tend to have a couple boxes open in the front of my cabinet and I smoke them until they're gone, and replace with something different. That being said, the current box of Shorts may very well be replaced with another of the same...current production has been Cigar Crack, and the new all-time leader of burnt fingers here :)

Wow so no matter what your week can only be so stressful :)

I usually smoke 2 on Monday which is my day off, and 1 on Saturday before work. There is no set pattern to what I smoke. It usually takes me 2 to 3 months before I smoke the same cigar. There are exceptions though. The only thing I don't really smoke are robustos.

Two per week is quite a luxury. If I'm on vacation, it's closer to one per day.

For me vacation is about 1 per hour lol.

This is more my speed. And when it gets cold, all bets are off. I'll go months without smoking.

Of course, that's before I found this site party.gif

At least one a day during the week (evenings, after work), at least two a day on the weekends (morning coffee, evening).

What difference does it make? You planning on framing them and sticking them on the wall? Lol
