About 3 and a half months ago, I couldn't take working for the board of directors that I was working for any more, so I quit my job. My wife had already quit her job due to giving birth.

We decided to move across the state (we didn't have jobs lined up yet). Thank goodness that I had that money from my parlay bet, because it took us about two months to get jobs (and we burned through a lot of cash in that time).

I couldn't find anything I wanted or at least couldn't get a call back (not having a college degree doesn't help). I finally took a job that I wasn't thrilled about picking stock in a warehouse at night. It was one of the best decisions I have made in a while!

I actually feel appreciated there, and I have a friend from high school that is the supervisor (no, it is not just him who makes it a good place).

The best part, in six weeks there I have lost 20 pounds! I am below 200 pounds for the first time in over three years. I look better and feel better. The only thing that would make it better was if this was during a fat bastard competition.

Good work. Interesting article from last week.... I'm on a weight loss plan too...I'm sure I'd loose weight if I made a career change!

Well done mate!

It has been a year since I started to seriously work on losing some weight. Started at 110 kg's and have settled in the 88kg's range (86-90).

It really is a matter of changing the way you do things from food to drink to a little exercise.

Great to hear your change of life is going well!

Well done!

I also have been watching what I eat (no more quarts of ice cream right before I go to bed) and went from 230 lbs to 195 lbs (at 6' 4", this is about right), just in the past few months. I should also exercise to help maintain this weight, and will start soon...

Out of curiosity, what was your parlay bet?

And congrats on the weight loss, I've been doing Keto since the beginning of the year and joined the weight loss contest over on reddit's cigars sub. I'm down about 30%, from 262lbs to 185lbs.

Congrats!

My weight is a life long battle for me. I have never been "skinny" as far as I can remember in life. I constantly have to watch what I eat because if I don't I just start packing on the pounds (I love to cook and eat) . I have been going pretty strong since the beginning of this year I managed to shed 35 lb. I recently took up running and actually stopped loosing the lbs but my clothes are starting to hang on me. I am starting to run out of shirts that I look decent in. I follow the 4 Hour Body diet, maybe not to the tee but very close. There are plenty of web sites out there that have food recipes and it works. The best part is the mandatory cheat day. I can live with dieting as long as I can indulge myself that one day a week.

been on the 5:2 for a few months, lost about 7-8 kgs, feeling good.

Started this a few times until I found a combination that works for me.

lesson is keep trying as there will be some combination of diet, calorie restriction, exercise that will work for you. what doesn't work today needs to be changed.

Congrats. Losing weight feels great. I've been on the Paleo diet since Jan 2015 and have lost 56lbs so far. I've rejoined the gym last week to start toning up. It's always hard to start but once you get into it, its like a domino effect. I eat better. My knee pain has gone away. I sleep better too. I work on the 5th floor in my building and use the stairs exclusively.

My only regret? Not doing this during a Fat Bastard contest. :D
