I don't know who is or ever was into wrestling but just got news that my all time favorite wrestler Rowdy Roddy Piper recently passed on peacefully in his sleep. In my opinion the most entertaining wrester from the 80's hands down. Not to mention some great movies too. Two that come to mind are "They Live" and "Hell comes to Frogtown".

RIP Roddy.

I came here to chew bubblegum and kick some ass, and I'm all out of bubblegum.

Into pro wrestling, even to this day and Piper is easily in my top 10 favorites (possibly even top 5) it was great too see him regularly on Legends House over the past few years. A great entertainer.

I was sharing with my son today that over the past year, we have lost some of the greatest old time "rasslers" from the Ultimate Warrior, to Dusty Rhodes and now the Rowdy one. Man, one can't help but wonder how much did the wrestling lifestyle contribute to their dying so early.

While we know it's entertainment, these guys put their bodies through the ringer to entertain and to turn a buck. My heart goes out to the loved ones they leave behind.

Blue Flames and Long Ashes until we meet again fellas.

Wow that´s a shocker. Guy couldn't have been that old.......60s? Remember him well watching 80s American wrestling.....RIP Rowdy!

Great entertainer all around. Piper's Pit was always worth waiting for. I'll never forget the segment with Jimmy Snuka. That was a great feud. RIP Roddy. flower.gif

Sorry to hear that another giant of my youth has left us. RIP Roddy

Among the great "love to hate" 'bad guys' but still loveable just the same...at the very least, somewhat, I'm glad that he went peacefully in his sleep. These days an almost enviable way to go, considering. I really do like Fosgate's pic of him riding Cecil the lion into the Great Beyond. A true fav who will be sorely missed. He was ancient by WWE standards. A while ago I saw something about how only 1 member of the '72 Dolphins had died, and during that time, well over 40 WWE/F wrestlers had died. Steroids aren't good for longevity.

You think there were no steroids in football in the 70s?

Do you think the rate of steroid usage in the NFL in the early 70's was anywhere near the usage in the modern day WWE?

The majority of that Dolphin team came up through the 60's, when anabolic steroids were uncommon.

At that time, many throwers in track were juicing. Today distance runners use them.
