Hi all,

Yesterday in the evening a friend and I were having a chat over a smoke and this hypothetical situation came up.

Suppose u are going to be deployed/ stranded/ magically appear on a deserted island and you only had $500 to spend on a box/boxes of cigars prior to solitary island life, to last you the year. what would it be.

The criteria is it should be something currently available on the market, no LE / Regional's. Current production only. No aged cigars.

Do u go for Quantity or Quality? Whats your strategy?

Cheers

But seriously,

I would go quality above quantity -

but come to think of it, one doesn't rule out the other:

RG PC, ERdM Demi Tasse, RASCC, etc...

That IS a nice island by the way, so why not go for a 150$ sat nav,

spend the rest on CC's and go forth and back! idea.gif

Cheers, Alex

Definitely quantity x2! I'd want to make it last as long as I could!

1 year = 365 days.

Assume 2 sticks a day from sheer nothingness to do, therefore require 730 sticks.

1 standard box = 25 sticks, therefore require 29-30 boxes.

At $500 spend limit, therefore each box must cost about $16.50.

It's looking like Minis and Clubs...

Actually, I'd be happy with Cuba's island Peso cigars - their Bances and other "at home" brands for the local populace. Guy was kind enough to send me a few to sample, and they seem hardy and non-demanding enough to not need that special, perfect temperature and cedar environmental care in order to maintain their flavors! That's what's impressed me the most about the "not-so-premium" brands of our habanos. So load me up with a few thousand plain dark blue band pesos cigars, and I'll opt to remain on "Janet's Island" way longer than Gilligan and his buddies smile.png

One box of CoLa or Behike, depending on which you prefer - smoke one stick every 15 to 30 days. You'll manage.

I don't see the point in cheap smokes unless you actually tried them and prefer them above the more expensive ones.

Don't sacrifice quality.

That's a tougher question than I would have thought, but quantity that I enjoy over quality that I love. Too boring to be on the island by yourself and we all saw how "Castaway" turned out... though I might be talking to my cigars by the end of the year.

RASS to have on "special island days" and then a mix of Flor de Cano PC's and Rafael Gonzales', both of which I think are undervalued and quite good.

Lets see it would have to be quality over quantity, my $500 choice would be get 50 BRC PSP, that includes the lighter, cutter and sun tan oil.

You figure 1 cigar a week by the time you get done your time would be up. These would be the best 50 days of your life.lol3.gif

Without the lighter your not going to get to smoking very quick, if your burnt to a crisp from the sun you will not enjoy smoking the cigar neutral.gif so you need the lotion and lighter.

60 bundles of peso cigars to start and then mix it up with petit coronas, shorts and maybe a few gordas.

Yeah, that's what I was kind of thinking. Perhaps a 5er of Monte PE to mix things up if I had enough money left over.

Hmmmmm a $500 hooker or 2 boxes of Party Shorts or 1 box of Party Shorts and a $250 hooker or 2 $250 hookers and smoke Palm leaves hmmmmmmm

50 cab of RASS - ration one per week (almost enough)

25 CT SCDLH El Principe - to cover the 2 weeks with no RASS and for holidays/celebrations and such.

I'd get 1 box of Boli PC's & RyJ Mille Fleurs. Then the rest of my $$ would go towards 2 boxes Quintero Brevas and 2 boxes of Quintero Favoritos.
