My first attempt at a review so be Kind.

Bolivar Royal Corona

I participated in my first split and was pleased with the outcome and look forward to participating in and possibly hosting in the near future as this is a great way to get a feel for brands without having to commit to entire box at first.

I figured this would also be a great opportunity for me to pop my review cherry as well. The sample was from a PSP box ULA Oct14

If I may ramble a little more Oct 14 was the month I took a plunge and left the corporate world and buy into a little bar/grill with a business partner so that is a happy month for me as well.

Sorry back to the cigar. This cigar was beautiful in every sense of the word, it was love at first site. The cold draw presented a sweetness that reminded me of raisins and cinnamon that had my mouth watering. The rich aroma was intense and I almost forgot to light it.

The first third started with a pepper blast and leather with notes of citrus and it moved on to a second third that saw some taming with the appearance of sweetness and cedar. In the second third spice and cream dominated with a quick appearance then disappearance of dark coffee. Throughout the retro hale was divine the final third brought some earthiness and what I would call a woodsy campfire taste that reminded me of camping.

Overall I give it a solid 91/92 with some youth present and slight burn issue that was probably more a result of smoking it immediately after receiving it.

Thanks for listening.

Nice review. I had a BCJ today that had hints of currants, so I get that raisin you're talking about. Seems like ULA 2014 was good for Bolivar.

Keep the reviews coming!

Thanks for the review...I guess we all have to start somewhere. I had a Bolivar Royal Corona last week which honestly I felt was a little ordinary (it might have been the high-humidity smoking conditions). I may have to re-visit this at some point.

Ditto, but without high humidity. ULA code, too. Might just need a little rest...

I have had over several BRC boxes over the years! Never had a bad box. I just finished off a 2006 box and it was simply amazing.

Recently smoked one from the same split, and I'd agree they're great. Easily an 87/88 pointer for me. Mine suffered just slightly in the last half or it would have been a 90.

Have a box of BRC with a ULA NOV14 code (bought blind so fingers crossed) on the way. Looking forward to smoking them. Everyone seems to agree 2014 was a good year for Bolivar.
