El Presidente Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 I was looking through a couple of boxes Friday before catching up with a mate of mine who flew in for a cigar. I have to say that my favourite Cuban cigar box artwork is El Rey Del Mundo. What a beautiful clean and intricate design. Every time I see it, I jam just in awe at the simplicity of beautiful white box and graphics excellence. Let us know what your favourite pieces of cigar artwork are (Cuban/Non Cuban/Current/Historical). Why does it appeal to you? Post a picture or a link if you can.
Jeremy Festa Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 For polar opposite I also like this!! Sent from my iPhone
DWC Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 I don't particularly like parrots or even birds for that matter but something about the colors and image always draws me in. It'd make a good tattoo if it wasn't a logo for a mediocre cigar. -Dan
shlomo Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Simple. Neat and clean. Either the BHK boxes or any wood cab with engraving
CanuckSARTech Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 My favourite artwork is overall from the LGC RE Cuba jar... 1
bacalao Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 NC Caldwell Cigars Long Live the King. I love street art Evoca1 does all his art work. 3
smokinjaycutler Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 I really like the Punch box with the puppet and his dog. I started looking closer and realized there's cockfighting on the bottom box flap. WTF! 2
finecigar Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 LOVE the inside art of the LFdC boxes! Also the simplicity of designs engraved on wood cabs- especially Sancho Panza and Bolivar
hellorockview12 Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 I don't own one of these boxes so I cannot post a photo without taking it from google, but my favorite is the VR boxes! I just love them!
Smallclub Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 I know it's stupid but everytime I look at a box of RyJ I wonder who could tie the rope ladder to the balcony… I doubt a young donna of the Renaissance knew how to make some sailor knots…
bigfunkyg Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 I was admiring the artwork on a box of Por Larranaga recently. Most of the PL I had were in the form of a SLB and I hadn't had a dress box before. Kind of weird but neat at the same time.
jsummers157 Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 I always loved the Michel Delacroix artwork that used to come on the NC Montecristo Platinum line. Love this one so much I have the box lid hanging on the wall in my walk-in humidor.

Are you aware of the shocking misspelling of the word "cubaine"? "The Curan countryside"? wtf? 1

Smallclub Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 What does that have to do with whether he likes the picture or not? I don't know, what do you think?
ksblazer Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 I always liked the Punch dress boxes like the ones that smokinjaycutler posted. 1
cooper669 Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 I don't know, what do you think? I think it is what HE likes and I really don't care what the artist chose to name it.
Smallclub Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 I think it is what HE likes and I really don't care what the artist chose to name it. I'm quite sure that the artist has nothing to do with the way his painting was "subtitled". The type font is distasteful (out of context) and a french painter would never make such a poor spelling mistake. It's obviously the work of the humidor maker.
GasGuy82 Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 The green cover of the Ramon Allones dress boxes and the old yellow/blue Partagas dress boxes that shorts come in are some of my favorite.

Far be it from the french to make a mistake, had to be someone else.............
