smokenj Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Has anybody tried this? Thinking about picking up a bottle to add to the collection, and this is on the top if my "must try" list. Any words of wisdom?
sengjc Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 I prefer the regular 10 Year Old, to be honest. This one seems to be quite tame despite being called: Storm. Still, if you haven't had it, give it a try. You may like it as personal preferences are different. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Ken Gargett Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 there is at least one thread on this elsewhere here. thought it not bad, not really great. but worth a bottle.
sengjc Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 I think that may be the thread about the Dark Storm, which is the Storm but matured in heavily charred barrels. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
fokker4me Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Think its good but I prefer the distillers edition to it. 1

smokenj Posted April 29, 2015 Author Posted April 29, 2015 Hmm, I'm thinking the next time I run to my whiskey store I'll snag a bottle. I'm debating between a regular bottle and storm as my entry int the brand.

If you like its briny, medicinal, smoky character then I think the standard 10yo is a good entry. imo a high quality whisky at a reasonable price level + it has an age statement.
free85 Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I was underwhelmed by it, seems like that's a kind of theme (at least here).
JohnS Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 For anyone interested, there were specials on Talisker Scotches at Dan Murphys on display this week when I visited yesterday.
JohnS Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 I was underwhelmed by it, seems like that's a kind of theme (at least here). I sampled some at my local Dan Murphy's store and I didn't take to it immediately, in comparison to ***** From The Barrel for example. I may have to try this again another time.
Deodato Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 Yep. My bottle is still pretty full at the back of the cupboard. For a hit of peaty, phenoly (sp?) goodness, I look to the Laga or Caol Isla or regular Talisker. For something special, the distillers edition of each is really good.
