Has anybody tried this? Thinking about picking up a bottle to add to the collection, and this is on the top if my "must try" list. Any words of wisdom?

I prefer the regular 10 Year Old, to be honest. This one seems to be quite tame despite being called: Storm.

Still, if you haven't had it, give it a try. You may like it as personal preferences are different.

I think that may be the thread about the Dark Storm, which is the Storm but matured in heavily charred barrels.

Think its good but I prefer the distillers edition to it.

Hmm, I'm thinking the next time I run to my whiskey store I'll snag a bottle. I'm debating between a regular bottle and storm as my entry int the brand.

If you like its briny, medicinal, smoky character then I think the standard 10yo is a good entry. imo a high quality whisky at a reasonable price level + it has an age statement.

For anyone interested, there were specials on Talisker Scotches at Dan Murphys on display this week when I visited yesterday.

I was underwhelmed by it, seems like that's a kind of theme (at least here).

I sampled some at my local Dan Murphy's store and I didn't take to it immediately, in comparison to ***** From The Barrel for example. I may have to try this again another time.

Yep. My bottle is still pretty full at the back of the cupboard. For a hit of peaty, phenoly (sp?) goodness, I look to the Laga or Caol Isla or regular Talisker. For something special, the distillers edition of each is really good.
