"There are actually two H. Upmann brands these days: the ones made in the Dominican Republic that Americans can buy and the ones made in Havana that they can't."

I will pass on the Banker they so painstakingly recreated from the original and enjoy my Mag 46 I'm currently puffing on in the good ole USA.

Quote from the comments...

"I love when there are brands like this. There is no distinguishable difference between the Cuban and the Dominican cigars, except for the brand. The brand adds so much to the actual product that it becomes iconic. Although, I wonder if Cuban grown cigars would have such a following if not for their legendary rarity. Do Cuban cigars actually taste better than the Dominican ones, or is it all the scarcity effect. I’m not a smoker, so I could be entirely wrong."

That last bit is my favorite part...

I did enjoy the illustrations though.

If I were King, I would see to it this writer was put to cleaning out stables for a while.

If he is going to spread horseshit,he should be shown the difference.........

Nice article but those Dominican Upmann's are HORRIBLE! I love my NC's but you won't find an Altidas stick in my humidor. They have ruined too many good names.

Would love to try one of JFK's Upmann petits.
