I am so thankful for this forum and the vast knowledge of its members . The things I have learned about CCs on here would have taken years to learn .That alone is priceless, but what I am most greatful for is the frienships ! I have made one friend locally that I have met up with and we have shared some awesome cigars together and were able to both experience cigars that the the other hasnt tried yet . And I have learned a lot from that BOL . I also have learned a lot about other cultures because I have friends on here from other countries I PM on a regular basis being a man that started a family young and not very well traveled. I wouldnt have known about the different things about these brothers and there way of life in far away lands if it wasnt for FOH . And after my house fire a BOL learned that I had lost a large part of my NC collection that I had that I smoked trying to let my cubans rest . This man sent me a large sampler of nothing but TOP SHELF NCs as a gift. Before that I had never talked too him. What a kind and generous man ! Just wanted to hear yalls stories and Comments of the friends youve made on here and express my gratitude for this Forum , its members that have made me laugh , been kind and taught me a lot Thanks Guys

It'll be interesting to follow this topic, good one! I'm with you on the contacts from around the world. Always great to connect with someone else with similar interests and the cigar usually is the big starter. I love to see people share some personal things in their Newb Intro, helps connect a little quicker!

Through cigars, and in particular FOH, I've been blessed to have met, and become friends with good people from all over the world. As they've done with me, I'd happily open my house to everyone one of them in an instant. I've learnt plenty from them all, and the cultural exposure' is awesome.

Along with my fellow countrymen, of whom I've met people from all states, the counties of people I've met, played golf with, smoked with, drank with, and broken bread with include:

- USA, Canada, Ireland, England, Italy, Greece, Austria, Germany, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, Mexico, Hong Kong, Cuba.... And I'm sure there are more that I've forgotten!

FOH was my first access to real CC's over 6 years ago. Really started me on my journey into a hobby I love. Have been blessed to have met a few people on FOH which a I get together and smoke with often and have become good friends. Also have met a handful of BOTL's I have talked to that I have not officially met but converse with often.

Great thread and topic.

I've made a great number of friends, most of whom I have never officially met in person as they are abroad or interstate.

I have however met Steve (OzCuban and his wife) who are both family friends now as my wife also gets along with Lucinda. Steve and Lucinda are amazing people who we love dearly.

Also would like to mention Mike (Bolivr) who may as well be living interstate as he resides in Geelong wink.png

Interstate, there are several in Sydney and WA and a number of people from Europe whom I would call friend.

It's pretty tough because I think the greater community feel here is rather special. Almost everyone here is kind, polite and giving be it time and knowledge, advice or even sending someone you never met a cigar. I have been a member of several forums, I've moderated also, and every single one had numerous people who eventually ruined the site and the greater community. This one (Touch wood) still stands, not just because of the moderators, but for the greater part, we are all decent individuals who know that being a nob ruins EVERYONES home which is FOH. smile.png

I agree. While I have not met anyone personally. I have enjoyed the antics and learned a great deal without ever feeling intimidated by people with vast more experience on a tonne of different topics. I feel somewhat more worldly and in the know. Just part of a bigger picture I guess. Plus it keeps my spelling and punctuation on it's toes. That's a good thing. I have a son heading for kindergarten in the fall, and this old man wants to be able to help him with his homework successfully.

Many thanks folks and hopes for many years and laughs ta boot to!

hunter - great topic - this forum was eye opening to me as well. Unfortunately, I am emotionally reserved and tend to under share unless I have been somewhat "over served" which Di can atest to in my overly wordy 24:24 sales purchase order emails. I like to drink and shop for cigars! hahahaha

I cant say that I have personally connected with anyone on FOH but I'm still new here too for the most part, these things take time. I'm still reading and learning mostly, there are a lot of people on here with serious knowledge.

Don't worry about the number of posts/clicks/likes etc, enjoy, smoke up, come back and do it again.

New Here lol what ever brother I have just been a post ***** you've been here longer than me! I have enjoyed learning on this site but its been a life saver for me lately with having a house fire losing half of what I own . I man up and take care of what I'm supposed too but the Botl on here have helped me pull through some hard times I have way more posts than a lot who are way more knowledgeable but I thank God for those brothers and sisters putting up with my crap ! Lol

Plenty. And quality over quantity :)

Mika27, ozcuban, mftan, jayc, atgroom

Even some guys from the NC side Petros and Tim.

It's interesting too to travel and chance upon another CC smoker, strike up a conversation and feel right at home.

Plenty!

From Aus, Ayalla ofcourse, and all the awesome perth boys! Also met rob © while in Toronto on my failed cuba trip. Will catch up with him again at Havanthon i hope!

London is probably next big clan, Tino, MrDowse, and more recently joeygunz, Cube, and monkey66 and Ryan and also Dara. Also met Rob Fox through mutual acquaintance i guess tongue.png Also more just from the industry than anything i catch up with Ajay whenever i'm in London.

Then there's some Canadians. ChanceSchmer (carry on from London, met/meet him there), met kiwiman and strada in Montreal, bundwallah and maverickdrinker and maplepie and canucksartech and other Torontonians while there and graced by their hospitality.

I travel a lot so i'm always up for a meeting with fellows of the leaf wherever i go. Also met quite a few friends through smoking in a lounge or on the balcony of a hostel. Met two americans while in Turkey last year who i still send some sticks to and they hit me back with sticks of their own. Great guys.

I've only been here a short time, and if you think you post a lot Hunter, what about me?

I have been the recipient of amazing generosity of time, knowledge and hospitality from many people that I've met on FoH. Where do I start?

Thanks El Pres, Trevor and Alex from Cuban Cigar Website, Fuzz, Kam, Jason, Steve, Adam, Alex, Will from Sydney FoH.

What about people I haven't met personally? Thank you to those who have been so encouraging directly via email or text or indirectly through posting on FoH...Di, Lisa, OzCuban, Mika27, sengjc, CoCigarSmoker, dflan82, wabashcr and of course yourself Hunter.

I've probably forgotten to credit people here as I've written this, but it is the beginning of my cigar journey and I know there will be others to thank along the way in the future.

I've made a couple of good friends in the local area (Maryland/Virigina) from FOH here all thanks to a herf at Sir WIlkey's house a couple of years back. Plus theres 4-5 guys at the local store where we smoke that I consider great friends. Hopefully this list will grow after the herf we're having in Maryland next month.

I've already met Lisa (First Lady) on her last trip to the U.S.A. and she's nothing but wonderful! Some day, I hope to make a trip to OZ and meet the rest of the crew and enjoy a glass of wine and a smoke or 2 up on the deck.

Good post hunter. Most of us will never meet, but as you already now from the story you started this post with, we are all friends without faces.
