omartout Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Here's pics of the outside of the boxes 1428700867142.jpg1428700641904.jpg I think it should have another sticker on the outside left of the hard cigar box too. Right?
CigarDarr111 Posted April 11, 2015 Author Posted April 11, 2015 I think it should have another sticker on the outside left of the hard cigar box too. Right? Top right.. but I'm 98% sure it's legit just wondering why no box codes or EL seal on hard box..
Rushman Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 That's incorrect. Max doesn't own or operate the TJ or Cancun (or Playa, wherever that one is) LCDHs. A man named David does, but Moises actually runs the TJ one. Related comment below Melies referred specifically to Mexico City la casas which are indeed Max's domain and completely legit. And Alejandro Suarez owns the one in playa. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 1
Rushman Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 LCDH IN Mexico, and "reliable source" can be an oxymoron Not wanting to violate source discussion rules, I'll leave it at that. If I have already done so, please delete this post, Prez. Can certainly be true. Lived there and worked in the biz for a few years and I've seen my share of suspect cigars in three not to be named la casas but never Mexico City. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 1
JohnS Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 CigarDarr111, in my humble opinion, there's no shame if you feel you've been dudded because judging by the images you've uploaded they look absolutely legitimate....the cigars, box and packaging. My first reaction upon viewing the pics was that they were the real thing, honestly.
Smallclub Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 I think it should have another sticker on the outside left of the hard cigar box too. Right? No.
RijkdeGooier Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 This link should give you a pretty good view of what they are supposed to look like: http://www.habanos.com/article.aspx?aid=488〈=en So far what you're missing in the pics is the EL band on the right top corner of the vernished box
omartout Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 No. I meant seal. I was comparing it to the photos on CCW. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Related comment below You did not read my post mate, I said LCDH in Mexico city, not in TJ or playa etc. That is why I was asking, also know David, never had a fake from him, but can't be 100% sure.
CigarDarr111 Posted April 15, 2015 Author Posted April 15, 2015 I have confirmed that this box is 100% authentic. I was Just confused as to why no box code or EL seal. I purchased them from LCDH in mexico so that had my guessing, apparently these boxes were bought in Cuba and weren't destined abroad originally was the explanation...
shlomo Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I have confirmed that this box is 100% authentic. I was Just confused as to why no box code or EL seal. I purchased them from LCDH in mexico so that had my guessing, apparently these boxes were bought in Cuba and weren't destined abroad originally was the explanation... Sounds like a shady story. How did you confirm? 1
CigarDarr111 Posted April 15, 2015 Author Posted April 15, 2015 Shady because it is in Mexico or shady because of the explanation? I took it to a local brick and mortar and had a few guys hovering over it passing the box around, they had 5 boxes they were selling for 1100 can each. I paid 6 usd..
Smallclub Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I paid 6 usd.. And you expect it to be authentic?
JohnS Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Yes, the images look authentic but that price is not.
oliverdst Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 you mean 6 hundred, right? did you know the other guys? it's usual that kind of trick (people pretending they are regular costumers) in 3rd world countries.
RijkdeGooier Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Smoke them and see. The no EL band would be a worry but nor a certainty. The lack of box code same thing. The explanation makes no sense at all - Cuban boxes have box codes and EL bands as well This is a picture of the Melia Hotel LCdH: http://www.cubacasarentals.com/things-cigar.html On the bottom row, third from the left you can plainly see the EL band on the box
Smallclub Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Guess he paid 6 USD for the authentication process. Now that's the sherry on top of the cake. Giving money to some cigar shop clerk in Mexico (!) to authenticate a box
cnwh Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Now that's the sherry on top of the cake. Giving money to some cigar shop clerk in Mexico (!) to authenticate a box I assume his local shop refers to where he is from, and not Mexico
CanuckSARTech Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 LOL. Chill guys. I think it's safe to presume he meant he paid $600 USD (rather than $1100). Still, not pro or con on the plausibility of these myself, but - it's all in how they smoke. And Frank - it's "cherry on top of the cake", not sherry; that'd get messy (but probably delishous!!!) 1
CigarDarr111 Posted April 15, 2015 Author Posted April 15, 2015 I just read these comments.. and it looks like a script from real house wives of FOH.. smh. 2
oliverdst Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I don't know what you mean but many connoisseurs in this forum (me not among them). If you didn't want true answers why did you ask? 1
