Sounds like you really respect your son and have a great relationship. You're both very lucky.

Very lucky. Thanks.

My brother-in-law is also a good cigar time candidate. He can't taste worth crap so is always happy regardless of what is on offer. Also, he is always upbeat. Just need to get him in a place where he can sit still a bit longer. :)

I usually smoke alone on my balcony, but my step brother makes a pretty good campanion. mostly because he is a good conversationalist and we share the same interest in sports, traveling, and watches. He's new at the whole cigar thing, so he's got a lotta questions and I'm happy to answer them when I can.

I often look forward to sharing a smoke with son after work or on the golf course. We recently started a tradition on our summer vacation at the beach in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. We wake up our first morning there, at 5:45am and share a smoke and a cup of coffee watch the sunrise listen to George Harrison sing "here comes the sun"

Of the half dozen people I am likely to share smoke time with, smoking cigars with my 26 year old is most enjoyable.

My son was remarking to me today how he'd like to have a cigar with me when he is older. I look forward to it as he is sixteen. My brother-in-law is exactly like yours, but I enjoy a smoke with him.

Of the half dozen people I am likely to share smoke time with, smoking cigars with my 26 year old is most enjoyable. Quite apart from the shared experiences, he is a great conversationalist, able to cover subjects as varied as beer and booze, literature, music, the arts, philosophy and religion. We share some commonality on these subjects, but very many differences also. While neither of us are big followers of team sports, we can talk skiing, hiking and camping, mountain biking, paddling. As a bonus, the boy can taste, that is to say he can focus on a cigar and articulate the sensations and flavours he is experiencing. Looking forward to the next time we get together, perhaps this summer on a paddling trip...

What makes for a good smoking companion in your world? Who's your favourite partner in crime (so to speak)?

Alan

Now that is real quality time, good stuffpeace.gif

Love it. I too (25) usually enjoy one or two solo or with my father. Anything those make forever type of memories. I can think back on each stick I've had with my dad and recall the stick, drink, and conversation. Take care. Thanks for posting.

How nice to have those moments with your son. While I usually smoke solo, my most memorable and enjoyable smokes are always with my father who got me into cigars. We talk mostly abut the Premiership and international affairs/history/philosophy. Thanks for sharing those moments with us!

Like many here (most?), I usually smoke in peaceful solitude, and I am good with that. Maybe a bit of music, a book, or a podcast, a drink or coffee - it's all very good.
