Hey guys,

I'm organising a bucks party in July for my best mate, and I definitely want to make sure all 14 attendees have a fine hand rolled Cuban in hand for the weekend at the Gold Coast.

I know what I enjoy, but I'm aware that not everyone is a cigar smoker and just looking for some suggestions for beginner cigars, for my self also as I'm a noob.

If you had 1 choice that you would expect "most" would enjoy what would it be,.?

Monte 2. Enjoyable for a seasoned cigar smoker yet mellow enough for a noob. Also has the name recognition.

Just don't cry when most smoke an inch and stub it out.

First that comes to mind is the Montecristo No.4. Typically enjoyable, in a size just slightly easier to deal with if some "don't finish".

I like the Monte No.2 idea, but perhaps a bit tougher to see stubbed out smile.png

While not my normal smoke, I agree with one of the posters above that the Monte 2 is a good option.

Pyramids are an elegant looking cigar, not going to break the bank, etc.

Well it's conclusive with the brand...

Just have to decide on the No. 2 or 4

I understand both sides of the argument, No. 2's look epic but No. 4's are probably more realistic for non habanos lovers.

Hmmm.....

9/10 people that don't smoke often or have never smoked at all will usually pitch the thing by halfway. If your set on Monte's, id go with a 4 or 5.

Personally I'd hand out some H Upmann Half Carona's. Pretty approachable young, not too overpowering, great size for when your on the piss, not to mention there pretty inexpensive.

Make sure you let em know which end to light.

monte 2's are probably the go for the 'baller' factor and as its your best mate, it might be worth spending the coin.

though for myself i bought a box of partagas shorts and some cohiba's/bigger size cigars for the main man and his grooms men, i didn't know most of the boys so didn't even know if they were open to cigars and that worked out great, you get a few discarded ones but you don't have to shed any tears over them.

Hdm epi nr 2 - shouldnt overwelm anyone, but still being a Flavourful and complex cigar it would be my take on it

The guys that don't smoke will indeed pitch it, like at my wife's birthday last year. Guys who are closer to you will have a go at getting through the cigar because they respect your generosity. I'd go for Monte 4 or 5's for the former types and Monte 2's for the latter.

H Upmann Coronas Major -or- Punch Punch tubos. Boli RC are smoking pretty good fresh right now, as well, again in tubos.

Tubos are easy to cart around to the pub and/or if someone would rather save the smoke than burn it that night, it can be done easily.

x 2 for the tubos.......Hoyo Coronations are excellent and not too pricey, and over half will end up in a flower pot anyway........

Thanks for all the advice guys, has given me a good few options and made me consider all the possibilities.

I like the above idea, also visibly makes the 4 groomsman stand out and saves some cash on the guys who may or may not appreciate it. Thanks for the ideas.
