Hash Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 good information , lets hope it does not affect supply and in turn prices.
terrantheman Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Don't worry other countries have been growing there tobacco for years!
PuroDan Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Supply and demand. Embargo about to be lifted, Cuba short on tobacco. Prices go through the roof. Funny how that works
garbandz Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Finally, justification for the excessive buying............ 4
UpInSmoak Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Supply and demand. Embargo about to be lifted, Cuba short on tobacco. Prices go through the roof. Funny how that works The embargo is far from being lifted. That will happen as soon as the right and the left can agree on "anything", which IMO is years away from happening. 2
El Presidente Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 The current wrapper shortage has been discussed here for 6-8 months 1
PuroDan Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Its all speculation. Let's just see how the cookie crumbles.
PuroDan Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 The embargo is far from being lifted. That will happen as soon as the right and the left can agree on "anything", which IMO is years away from happening. You could be right. I really hope you are!
vinnyvega Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 I have not had a big year of spending since 2008. I think this year is going to be the year I stock up again. 1
mk05 Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 They've been saying that for years. Incorrect, 2009-10 crop was excellent, heralded as "...de los mejores en la historia de Cuba." Did you notice that a good part of 2012-2013 cigars were great, or no? I'm guessing no from the answer. The current wrapper shortage has been discussed here for 6-8 months That was due to a previous problem in 2012, causing 2014 production cigars to be horrible overall, not just wrappers but, "...sin suficiente materia prima," as an insider advised during that time. Isn't this CA article is talking about 2014 crops that will affect (presumably) 2016-2017 production cigars?

TIA!
BonVivant Posted March 4, 2015 Author Posted March 4, 2015 The current wrapper shortage has been discussed here for 6-8 months Not the wrapper shortage this time, Sir CA does not call bad harvest, unless it has to - look at the record - it is all out there and it is always great
eswary Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 The embargo is far from being lifted. That will happen as soon as the right and the left can agree on "anything", which IMO is years away from happening. Even if embargo is lifted today, there are trademark issues, import licenses waiting periods, political jargon, tax discussions, and distribution issues. To my knowledge(which is retarded) Cuba hasn't been able to keep up with the current supply and demand today. You think QC is poor at times now? Just wait until they try to pump out the American demand. Cut corners and short/poor aging/drying periods. Until Cuba decides to hold a actual election for a political leader, don't hold your breath on America to lift the embargo. Even after all that being said, I've decided to stock pile as much as I can afford this year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
