westg Posted February 25, 2015 Author Posted February 25, 2015 Was at mandarin oriental... but to many renovations... including pool....so I cancelled pitty as they have LCDH...now at Shangri la Fuzz.
kwsaw63 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 The Mandarin Oriental is a nice hotel but the LCDH there is a dump, so you're not missing much. Anyway there are many indoor smoking venues in KL plus some nice cigar lounges. http://my.dining.asiatatler.com/features/top-5-cigar-lounges-in-kuala-lumpur 1
maxcjs0101 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Cigarslounge in Publika has a decent walk in humidor and alcoholic beverages for you to pair with your stick. If you want to find some aged sticks with live music, you can head to Havana Club in Concorde Hotel, KL.
Andy04 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 You have 2 decent retailers within a 2 minute walk of the Shangri la
maxcjs0101 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 You have 2 decent retailers within a 2 minute walk of the Shangri la Really? Are you referring to LCDH KL?

westg Posted February 26, 2015 Author Posted February 26, 2015 Aren't cigars really expensive there? When I was there last Lordynewarse it was around $57 for a Cohiba Genios so yes on the expensive side ...that was a few years back
LordAnubis Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Maybe just snort cocain for that week, will be cheaper
maxcjs0101 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Yeah, tobacco is taxed quite high in Malaysia. That was why i surrendered 3 boxes of JLP Cazadores and a box of Arturo Fuente magnums to the local customs rather than paying the tax.
westg Posted February 26, 2015 Author Posted February 26, 2015 Maybe just snort cocain for that week, will be cheaper Can't wait till my supplier gets back from Mali with the really good ****
LordAnubis Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 July my friend, july. We'll have a snow party in Perth
torsion Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 westg - just a heads up on this place (which I went to with my cousin) if you want a great view of the city in some damn comfy leather seats! http://www.marinis57.com/venue/whisky-cigar-lounge/ Obviously as above the pricing is going to be steep compared to what we're used to however money can't buy atmosphere at these places although Mus has a point in his suggestions as alternatives LOL I will be checking out some other less fancy cigar places in KL when I am over there in August

OZCUBAN Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 July my friend, july. We'll have a snow party in Perth Someone's in for a cavity search at the airport
westg Posted February 27, 2015 Author Posted February 27, 2015 He would enjoy that...... shaking with excitement not fear 2
Andy04 Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Really? Are you referring to LCDH KL? No, 1) Concorde Hotel has a place called Havana Club in their lobby. IMO the best range of any retailer in KL. They usually have some bizarre aged stock. 2) Cigarlounge is in the lobby of Menara Hap Seng (Hap Seng Building that retails Mercedes Benz). Their selection is limited but pricing is good for KL. Next to Cigarlounge is an outdoor Belgium beer cafe. Once finished there, the Beach Club is only a 5 minute stroll.....
Andy04 Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Thanks torsion , looks very nice definitely one of a few I will be going to. A 1966 will set you back around RM 400 at Marini's, so i strongly suggest your byo cigars there!

maxcjs0101 Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 That's unlucky....Malaysian Customs is usually quite lepak. Nope, they are actually quite on the look out for very taxable items as from what i heard they have quotas to achieve. And we use the word "rilek" not "lepak" in malaysia. haha
