With a category 5 cyclone bearing down on our part of the world we are in for some torrential rain and big winds for the next couple of days.

Many of you are in the path of "Cyclone Marcia" and have gone through hell and back over the past couple of years from other similar rain/storm events. Be safe, stay home, stay dry.

Ken, if that creek of yours becomes a raging torrent, get the hell out of there early! You can crash at Czars or at Di's for a few days if need be.

if it is as bad as they are saying (and they tend to overblow it), then members who are in serious trouble just reach out here and we will assist where we can.

Good luck over the next couple of days. Stay safe and no heroics. ok.gif

I got to work without a problem but from what I saw of the roads at 7am in the way in...not sure how getting home is going to go.

The roads I travel to work are already starting to have water over them no.gif

Be safe everyone

Yes...stay safe, the worst will be over by tomorrow.

By the way Rob, what cigars go best with washing and cleaning the house?

Maybe the first time in years Ken's deck will be cleared of plastic bottles, postal bins, and cobwebs. As we say in Central Florida after Charley, Frances, Jeanne and Ivan in 2004 ; H U N K E R D O W N ! ! !

Having gone through 2 Cat 5 direct hit hurricanes, a couple of Cat 3's and 4's in my life time, I feel for you guys and what you're going through. The days and weeks after the storm are usually worse than the storm itself, if you can ride it out in safe quarters.

Be safe.

We experienced Hurricane Katrina, and it was a lot of devastation so please be safe. Personal property can always be replaced.

Be safe one and all - I hear this one as of this morning was around 80 Km in circumference so it's pretty big. Like Rob said, no heroics, just stay safe and post another day. ;)

thanks for that. much appreciated.

was going to tough it out but when the 100 foot tree near the house on the edge of the creek came crashing down, it was time to bolt.

tossed a few things in a bag and gone.

quite terrifying watching that creek. was relatively low but moving this morning when i got up. then watched it rise about a foot an hour all morning and toss large logs down it like matchsticks. think the bloke who is nearly finished building the new house next door might be having second thoughts getting perilously close when i bailed.

took some photos and will try and post when i get back home. if.
