Ken Gargett
i know nothing about this bloke but after we dodged those bullets of hiring defensive coordinators like wade phillips and fangio and struck gold with the bloke who went 0-16 with the lions (doesn't that just rip the funk out of your wagnalls), i see he has hired an old mate as his assistant. i gather this bloke went 20-50 at school, so at least some improvement there. (if anyone out there from idaho has an idea about this guy, i'd be interested). but i just love the bling. check out the video. skins! never dull. never good but never dull. this video is indicative of Akey's demeanor,

Ken Gargett
still, it could all be worse. we could have drafted manziel. wow! just saw he is in rehab. it is possible that this guy is the stupidest human on the planet. the opp to set himself up for life, have a good career. instead, he doesn't even get on board, let alone fall off the rails. hard to have the slightest bit of sympathy. Ken Gargett
Money doesn't mean anything to him. He comes from a wealthy family therefore seems entitled. i guess everyone has reasons for doing what they do. if he is already wealthy, then not a driving force. but you'd still think, with the talent he obviously has, he'd have some interest in a successful career. you have to think the browns must be wondering what on earth they did, drafting him (now if only jerry jones had got his way). perhaps they'll want to trade for cousins? That's a good thought. I was shocked to see him go in the first round. He has some obvious off the field issues while even in college. The Browns rolled the dice with a 1st round draft pic and now they are paying for it. That said, he's a wonderful talent. I hope he gets his act together and pulls his head from his bum. I just don't think he's what a franchise needs in a QB.

wabashcr
The Browns rolled the dice with a 1st round draft pic and now they are paying for it. To be fair, the Browns took him with the 1st rounder they got from my Colts in the Trent Richardson trade. The same Trent Richardson who will be cut as soon as the league allows. Cleveland seemingly wasted that pick on Manziel, but it was a bonus pick to begin with. As for Manziel himself, the biggest concern about him coming out of college was that the style that made him so successful is almost never effective in the NFL. He had a great WR at A&M (Mike Evans, now of Tampa Bay), and he was able to buy time by scrambling and improvising. Extending plays is one thing, but in the NFL, you have to be able to make your reads from the pocket and throw into tight windows. He never was able to do that in college. He was always going to need a major overhaul to succeed in the NFL. All the off the field concerns just made it far less likely that he'd be able to take the necessary steps to transform his game. Manzel never had a career in the NFL. He is a boy playing a mans game and it shows every time he plays. He was flash in the pan.

I agree I think that's all it boils down to! Not a single ounce of discipline. The real question is how long they let that Snickers commercial run because it's becoming really sad.
