While in the warehouse I went through a half dozen boxes of the Romeo y Juleita Anejado Piramides. They literally just arrived and they haven't been priced (although pricing looks good).

I will call up a box next week for a review with ken and will make them available from the week after.

The Romeo y Julieta Piramides released at the end of 2000 and discontinued 2003 were horrid cigars. I was praying these were not simply those cigars rebanded. Looking at the small sample I opened, there was certainly none of this quality in the 2000-2003 I saw.

Still, a tasting will tell.

For those who have tried them...your opinion? thinking.gif

I will say this was a really big blindsided move on Habanos side. A very small ratio between release date announcement and showing up in stores.

Either that or no one really cared for these cigars being released .

First half good, second half harsh, almost a good R and J blend. For me no relation to the 2000-2003 BS. Do not look or taste the same.

Imagine smoking an average to OK R and J from 2005-2007 and you will have an idea. If you just smoked the first half you would think this is quite a nice stick.

I am looking forward to trying the Monte though.

So Habanos SA is doing what the best swiss and UK merchants have been doing for half a century…

Well, better late than never, but why did they have to complicate it with the "Revisado" stamp, previously used for boxes from the dreaded years 1998/1999/2000?

Revisado makes no sense. These cigars did not exist in 2008. Word got out for the anejado release only about 8 months ago or so.

The whole thing is WEIRD and shady.

I'm sure I'll eventually try some to form an opinion on the cigars, but the logic behind releasing an aged example of a non existant cigar boggles my mind.

But why can't they had just rolled the cigars and let them rest since 2008?

And then when boxing they were revisados.

I agree with the others that say there would have been SOMEONE letting the cat out of the bag on this.

No one going to Cuba, visiting the factories, getting drunk with the management, printing the boxes and bands......

and certainly there would be fakes on the market...........

+1 on shady.

However, if the pricing is good, the taste is good, then I don't really care if they were around in 2008 or not. I know I will definitely try to get my hands on some of the Monte Churchills if I could gather the coin.

Sure. They could have had all this planned perfectly from 2008. I am just very skeptical is all.

Just another marketing campaign by Habanos SA. They know that if they put a second band, it will sell.

This thread reminded me: How come there's no Monte Churchill?

I mean seriously? Montecristo is surely as much a flagship brand as Cohiba, but with no Julieta No.2.

eighteen euro per stick in Germany........that's about 24.00 US.......

I do not think these will sell anywhere for less than 19.00 each.........

Smoking one now that was gifted to me. Meant to smoke it with Mus but forgot it at home that night. Probably just as well. ....

I get a hint of sweetness, hint of nuts, hint of this, hint of that.....but you know what i really got?

Bored. Boring, mediocre tobacco flavour. I believe strongly that they rolled these years ago and realized that they were so boring that they fit no marca on the shelf that had this size. So they forgot about it for 5 years, tried em again, found that they now had mellowed-out boring cigars instead, and slapped a band on them that would not make people expect much.

Maybe there are better examples out there, but this is one guy who'll be staying away. You can bag REs/LEs if you want, but I've never had one as bleeding boring as this.

Just finished one up as I grilled a buffalo tri tip. I have to say it was a pretty one dimensional. I did nub the cigar. It was very tasty, it just didn't go anywhere...

A little buffao shot as well

Had one and flat out SUCKED! Glad it was a gift because it woulda psst me off dropping coin on these. Pitched it after the halfway point as it really started tasting bad and I was afraid it would **** up my palette.
