Hugomarink Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 I think Seattle wins it all again. And as a 49ers fan it pains me to say that. But I don't know if there's a team out there who can really handle Seattle's defense over four quarters. And with the home field advantage Seattle has, I give the other NFC teams a very small chance of beating them in their house. And I give the AFC teams even less of chance but at least they won't have to play Seattle in Seattle. Now watch Carolina end up winning this game tonight. :-)
titla1k Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Got up this morning to watch the Pats. I think my heart rate is just about back to normal now. The Ravens played a hell of game, as we thought they would. I just hope Stork's injury is not that serious, and we'll be at full strength for the Broncos or Colts.
Fosgate Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Apparently the refs are so nervous about being branded as bought. So they decide not to call holding on Rogers protection in the second half. Last Cowboys pass play was total bs call. Lions fans must be rejoicing. Hope Seattle takes them to the tool shed next week! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
ChanceSchmerr Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Looking forward to GB knocking out Seattle next week. Who needs two good calves? One'll do just fine!
JohnS Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 I still think Patriots vs Seahawks for the Superbowl....with Broncos that outside possibility.
Fosgate Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Looking forward to GB knocking out Seattle next week. Who needs two good calves? One'll do just fine! That rule and it's interpretation and Rogers comment "Great refereeing" at the end just made me a big Seattle fan for next week.

Ken Gargett Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 go back to the touchdown they took away from rg3 on half time for some dodgy juggling call. way way worse than this one. if it was not a touchdown then no way was this. i actually thought it was a good call (granted any call against the cowgirls is a good call but i really did think it was correct). but after that disgrace last week, any dallas fan bleating needs a reality check. fosgate, i agree with you (if i follow correctly) that the change from suspension to fine was rubbish. but so was the change of that call.
Dozerhead Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 The call on Dez's play was correct, but it's a dumb rule. 1
Fosgate Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Denver had better pick up the slack and slap the receivers and tell them they are not basketball players. So many easy dropped passes.
Peacock Posted January 12, 2015 Author Posted January 12, 2015 Well, we have got it narrowed down to 8 teams... Cowboys vs. Green Bay....I think GB wins this one..I still think the Cowboys are a DeMarco Murray away from being 8 - 8, and I don't think the Cowboys can keep pace with GB. Baltimore vs. New England...I am going to go with NE. I think they are the second best team out there. Denver vs. Indianapolis...Going with Indianapolis. I think Payton Manning is one of the finest QB's of all time, but the Broncos have not been as consitent as they should be. Finally: Seahawks vs. Carolina....SEAHAWKS! Seattle has a very consistent, productive, if not humble offense, and has the best defense in football. Prediction: SUPERBOWL ... Seattle vs. New England...I think this would be the match up of the two best teams, and that's what the superbowl should be. I'll take the Seahawks to repeat as Super Bowl Champs. Randy Not to brag about my prognostication skills...But.. NE vs. Colts. Wow. you pick it. I'm going with NE due to my earlier statement... SEA vs. GB. Good luck in our house. GO HAWKS
Fosgate Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I don't think the Colts will take NE and I think Seattle will pummel GB. So I think It will be Seattle vs Patriots and I cannot stand the Pats so GO HAWKS! 1
Duxnutz Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Just finished watching the Greenbay game on delay. Classy game by Rogers. Here's hoping they can pull off a miracle against Seattle. I hope I don't see sack after sack on him instead.
DrunkenMonkey Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 The call on Dez's play was correct, but it's a dumb rule. Exactly. Common sense tells you that that was a magnificent catch. I really hate when things like that get taken away. They should go back to a more common sense approach to what is a catch and what isn't. But then, they should also go back to letting DBs hit receivers downfield, and go back to letting everyone hit QB's as if they're football players too. 1
Ken Gargett Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 in cricket, no way in the world would it be considered a catch, but you simply have to go with the rules of each sport. and hope they are not idiotic. for any unhappy dallas fans, worth remembering that at least this one was overturned after a challenge and taken upstairs for consideration. the one in the lions game was never given that opportunity. had that happened then every chance today's game was packers v lions. 1
erjaq Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 After watching the Packers/Cowboys game, anything less than a 20-point victory by Seattle would surprise me. Rodgers struggled mightily when the Cowboys rushed 4 (no blitz) and kept tight coverage on the WRs. Guess who does that better than any team in the league? Hint: it's your next opponent. Rodgers would normally bail out of the pocket and run for a 1st down in that situation but his calf kept him from doing so. It was a really gutsy performance by him but it won't be enough in the next game. A series of fluky plays (including but not limited to the play everybody is talking about) kept GB in the game -- it could easily have been a 2-score lead in Dallas's favor entering the 4th quarter. In the other game I expect Luck to shine as always but I just don't think they can overcome the Pats. I didn't expect them to overcome the Broncos either, any given Sunday, etc., but it's hard for me to imagine an upset here. Belichick will come up with his usual wrinkles and Brady will play well, as always. It's no fun to predict that the favorites win but they're favored because they're better.
erjaq Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 The call on Dez's play was correct, but it's a dumb rule. It is a very dumb rule, but I personally think it was misused here. In real time it was clear that he used his "third" foot to propel himself toward the goal line while stretching the ball out with his left arm. He would not have had his arm stretched out like that if he were still in the process of making the catch. He had already secured the ball and was thinking about the touchdown. I can think of no move more football than that.. In slow-motion it's not as clear, but in real time there was no doubt in my mind. I'm not a fan of either team, and my Dallas +6 bet cashed in any case, but that's what it looked like to me.
ChanceSchmerr Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Well if I'm one of the only ones confident that Mr. Rodgers can leave his Neighbourhood (9-0 with no picks this season!) and still make adjustments to get the job done, so be it. I guess I'm just happy that I don't make cigar bets on football anymore unless my team is in the Super Bowl/Grey Cup - otherwise I can see I'd have a bunch of takers this week haha
Fosgate Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I like the interview. Both games were using the phrase "Football Like Move" by commentators. Worst terminology to use IMHO. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/dez-bryant-still-seeking-answers-of-why-his--football-move--nullified-a-brilliant-catch-%E2%80%93-and-it-was-a-catch-000527313.html The whole reason the rule exists http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/09000d5d81a77070/Controversial-call-on-Megatron-non-TD I don't know about you but it seems some committee within the NFL has to justify keeping their jobs by rolling out new stupid rules further complicating the game. I think its petty.
ha1fway Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 There has to be some guideline on what's a catch and what isn't, if people don't like the rule... fine, lets come up with a different standard, but that was clearly an incomplete pass. 1
Duxnutz Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Call me Nutz, but I can feel a Packers victory (over Seahawks) in my loins! They do play the underdog routine well!
Peacock Posted January 12, 2015 Author Posted January 12, 2015 Call me Nutz, but I can feel a Packers victory (over Seahawks) in my loins! They do play the underdog routine well! Per your request...You're Nutz. And if I were you, I get that loin thing checked out. No doubt the Packers are a great team, but that 12th man thing is real.
ChanceSchmerr Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Rodgers takes it. 3rd time's the charm against these Seahawks. Besides, they are undefeated in the playoffs vs Seattle! How can you bet against that
