I use a cheapo fake Hoyo de Monterrey cigar ashtray when I do use one. However, for the last few months, I've been collecting all my ashes in a small flower pot. It's part of a project to collect cigar ash and bacon fat to make "cigars and bacon" soap with my kids.

Generally, I don't get much from ashtrays as the cigar rarely ever leaves contact with my lips or hands and I smoke outside quite often.

I love a good unique ashtray. I also really like the simple cigar stand or rest. I have a few kicking around here and seem to rotate through the lot.

I just open my cutter partially and rest my cigar in the space between the body and the finger holes.

The good thing about this is you can adjust for the rg whether it be big or small.

I'll try and post a pic next time I'm burning one.

I like ashtrays and believe that they are integral to the whole art of cigar smoking.

Much like a proper wine or whisky glass will enhance the overall appeal of the experience, I think an ashtray has the same effect.

I guess I should have clarified my original post...

When siting outside the ground does just fine...

When driving in my truck or suburban the ash goes out the window and the butts go into a locking top glass jar (preserves sort of one)

When sitting in the office at home I like an ashtray on the desk so I can type or do something and not clamp the stick in my teeth.

Great replies and I like some of the ashtrays and stands I see in the daily smoke thread also.

A wooden ashtray carved by a friend of mine. Its in the shape of the three fingered montecristo ashtray.

I got this frosted stainless steel Cohiba ashtray for my birthday. Not sure if it's genuine Cohiba, but it's definitely my favorite ashtray. Cleans out easily and holds four cigars.post-21153-14142836049345.jpg

Ashtrays, a necessary evil sneaky.gif

I actually find them quite useful and enjoy tracking down nice and unusual ones.

The Boli looks crooked. Lol

This is the one I use 90% of the time and for me, its perfect. Can fit 4 cigars easy. Any length, any size, ash drops through the holes and it looks like it should have sunk with the Titanic!

I bet the stick is from a slide lid box otherwise known as a cabinet selection. The ribbon the wheel of sticks is tied with can cause this sort of indentation. I have some SLR DC's that go around a corner before you do they are so warped :)

I use this one as well, mainly because its windy where I live and this one makes sure the ash stays out of my eyes. Also its big enough to take many cigar ends....
