zdpa Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Hello, I tried searching for this but couldn't find information. Does anyone have or know if Punch-Punch-Punch (25box) August 2010 is a good batch? Or... tight draw problems? Or where could I go to find this out. While I'm asking here... may as well ask about Juan Lopez Selection No.1 july 2011. I'd like to avoid tight draw issues. Cheers.
leftimatic Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Way to early for so many punches. I would say go for it. Whole box cant be bad.
subport Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 No one is going to tell you for sure that a 2010 aug is tight or not. How do we know? Even if I have a same box yours could be different. Keep your cigars on the lower 60s rh wise or try dry boxing them, and you will be facing less draw problems. 3
Drguano Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 If the Punch-Punch-Punch combination produces a tight draw, try the Punch-Punch-Cutter. (insert emoticon here...) 2
garbandz Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 buy the J Lopez and/or the Punch. worst case is you trim them up and roll them as cigarettes..............
Smallclub Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Aug 10? 1st week: overfilled – 2nd week: fine – 3rd week: underfilled – 4th week: fine but blend is messed up 4
El Presidente Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Personally I would hit late 12, 2013 PP and 2014 PP.
Maplepie Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Personally I would hit late 12, 2013 PP and 2014 PP. x2We had a V-Herf a while back on the Punch Punch. Everyone was bragging about the taste of their post -12 boxes. I had my 6th one from a box of 09s and they were just bland. 1 dimensional and weak but good construction. Rye : you had an aged one too, no? I'd sink the money into some recent PP instead. Lord knows someone might want to gauge you because they're 4 years old. Sent by the Enigma on BlackBerry.
matt123 Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 I have a 50 cab from March 2011 and they're amazing!
MC4 Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 I've had 10 count of 09 tubo, 10 count '10 tubo and 10 count '11 tubo, they were all amazing. Just recently ordered another 10 count tubo which are from 09. Looking forward to trying them.
PapaDisco Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 I've had boxes of '09 tubos and '10 tubos, which were just dripping with Punch Punch chocolate and honey flavors BUT the '10's (3 boxes) did have a high plug rate and all of them were tighter than most cigars. I've had 2 boxes of the 2012's (dress box, untubed) and they had the highest plug rate of all, almost 50/50 . I haven't had the 2011's IIRC, and the 2013's have been perfectly made, draw slightly tight but no problem, and perfectly consistent. Flavors still dark, but not as dramatically sweet as the '09's.
Pedro2486 Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 I would buy as many '13 boxes as I could. They have been an awesome smoke now with great prospects for the future
Maplepie Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 I've had boxes of '09 tubos and '10 tubos, which were just dripping with Punch Punch chocolate and honey flavors you lucky bastard!! wanna trade?
zdpa Posted October 17, 2014 Author Posted October 17, 2014 Thanks guys. Feedback is much appreciated. By the way, is the general consensus that 2013 and 2014 CC seem to have better draw? It's just a matter of waiting for them to age?
PapaDisco Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 you lucky bastard!! wanna trade? Lol. Sorry MP, smoked them all!
cigardude Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 the punch punch has always been one of my favorite sticks. I have some from 07' and 10' and 12'.....they definitely get better with age. I have never had a tight/plugged one yet. Grab what you can and hord them away is my opinion.
leftimatic Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 If I were to go monogamous I think the Punch Punch would be in the top three choices. Smoke them up and enjoy.
TM-US Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 I have some '09 tubos that are great. Everything you would expect in a Punch Punch. That said, I have some dress boxes from '11 that are mediocre at best. I'm not in front of my humidor, so I can't tell you the box codes.
