Duxnutz
Just opened a box of SLR Serie A and they're probably the most heavily box pressed cubans I've ever seen! Ill try to add a pic but its kind of amusing, they really jammed them in there! I like my cigars round (from cabs wherever possible) but the 50ct cab of SLRs was sadly flogged off and retired. My question is: If I take these square pegs out of the dress box and into a cab, will the box press diminish over time? Keen to hear some thoughts, maybe I'm nuts! shlomo
diminish, yes. From what I have seen, they will never be as round as cigars that have never been pressed. Then again, maybe if you wait a decade or more....
Maplepie
Keen to hear some thoughts, maybe I'm nuts! puns aside........ Most of my pre-02 dress boxes have them ridiculously box pressed. Guess it just comes with time. Especially if they're the maschine made, cello-wrapped cigars... The corner boxed cigars are always rectangular and AMAZING. So that's always nice

DrunkenMonkey
Are you sure they are square and not diamond shaped? Good point. Any cigar can be square pressed, but only the most awesome cigars can be diamond pressed. It's like a 45 degree difference.
mk05
Some shapes are more equal than others.

The real challenge is getting the band centred properly. Only the best uh... bandileros are employed.
