I got a box of these from the prez a while back and have been thoroughly enjoying them.

First third: wood and leather start the cigar, the sweet dark sugar profile I have been getting while smoking these is not apparent in this specimen. Construction is spot on. Vanilla creeps in as the first this comes to a close.

Second third: the sweet characteristic I am use to starts to come out, but not as intense as other ones I have had. The tubo version that I have smoked have much darker wrappers. I think that may be part of the reasoning behind it. Leather continues, as does the perfect construction and draw.

Final third: the cigar loses all sweetness, but keeps most of its dark flavors. The cigar gets a tad bitter, but not in a bad way. I hope these are not going through a dull period but, rather it is just this cigar.

In conclusion this is the punch punch I have enjoyed the least. With that said construction was still top notch and the flavor profile was enjoyable.

Wow. Perhaps Pigfish should've taken this cigar instead of you. Way to gloat that your 1 year old punch punch was better than his mid-90s! (IYHO ;))

In general I am a big fan of the punch profile. That just may be the difference.

I will have to try those then. I have enjoyed Siglo 4, but not SLR A. What I stated was just how I feel they have been smoking lately. I guess i will have to try some SS no 2 I have again and see what they give back.
