Lant63 Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 I got a box of these from the prez a while back and have been thoroughly enjoying them.First third: wood and leather start the cigar, the sweet dark sugar profile I have been getting while smoking these is not apparent in this specimen. Construction is spot on. Vanilla creeps in as the first this comes to a close.Second third: the sweet characteristic I am use to starts to come out, but not as intense as other ones I have had. The tubo version that I have smoked have much darker wrappers. I think that may be part of the reasoning behind it. Leather continues, as does the perfect construction and draw.Final third: the cigar loses all sweetness, but keeps most of its dark flavors. The cigar gets a tad bitter, but not in a bad way. I hope these are not going through a dull period but, rather it is just this cigar. In conclusion this is the punch punch I have enjoyed the least. With that said construction was still top notch and the flavor profile was enjoyable.86 3
Maplepie Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Wow. Perhaps Pigfish should've taken this cigar instead of you. Way to gloat that your 1 year old punch punch was better than his mid-90s! (IYHO )
Lant63 Posted September 22, 2014 Author Posted September 22, 2014 In general I am a big fan of the punch profile. That just may be the difference. Wow. Perhaps Pigfish should've taken this cigar instead of you. Way to gloat that your 1 year old punch punch was better than his mid-90s! (IYHO )

Lant63 Posted September 23, 2014 Author Posted September 23, 2014 I think you will enjoy Cohiba IV and SLR A from BAM/RET. I will have to try those then. I have enjoyed Siglo 4, but not SLR A. What I stated was just how I feel they have been smoking lately. I guess i will have to try some SS no 2 I have again and see what they give back.
