1. H Upmann Connoisseur No. 1

2. Juan Lopez Seleccion No. 2

3. Ramon Allones Specially Selected

This this my quandary when I am placing my order today. If you could just take 2 boxes, which would you go for?

I think all three can be great, and have quite different flavour profiles.

Really depends on what flavours you like, and if you want something to smoke now or aged a bit.

2 and 3 would be my choice only because I have never had a Connie 1 before

#1 and #3 for me. All are nice but I've plenty of #2 for now....

Even if not, it's still #1 and #3

I would actually choose them in the order you have them. Haven't had a fresh Connie 1, but the 08s and 11s I've smoked are hard to compete with. The JL2 is a great cigar with better things to come with a short amount of rest. RASS are a staple, but to me the most hit and miss of the bunch. I reach for RA Sups anyway. For a few more bucks, you get what (to me) would take a while for a RASS to evolve to.

Wait for an hour or so. Do it on the weekend. 2 of the 3 are on our weekend 12:12

Rob, if I ask for help choosing between Sir Winnie's, BTO/MUO Espy, and LGC MDO2, Will they magically appear on the 12:12???

This is madness. With all of these 12:12 sales, I find myself emailing Di before my previous order has even shipped.

Connie #1 first haven't had a freshie, but the 11s an 12s are great. JL to me are ok and have not had a good RASS yet. Sub out the RASS with the RA Sup and you have a winner.

I've recently had all three, they were in the sampler i bought from our host. For me it would be the RASS

Last night whilst I was entertaining some customers for dinner at our local Havana club, I brought along my only single of RASS and Siglo 1. The Siglo 1 is fantastic little smoke, but for the price of a box, I could buy any of these above in a larger vitola.

Then came time for me to smoke the RASS. And, I must admit, I probably had a very good stick that was in my humidor. The flavors were magnificent. Much more intense than my first foray with RASS a couple of months back. So, as I was considering expanding my Robusto range and having read so many threads in this magnificent forum, I wanted to get the opinions of my fellow brotherhood of the leaf.

And man, you guys don't disappoint. And it has clearly made my decision tougher. El Presidente, I shall await for your 12:12 !

I have not had the pleasure of smoking the other 2, but I do have a Juan Lopez No.1 in my humidor, which I plan to smoke this weekend. I also do have the H. Upmann Royal Robusto Limitada in my humidor, might take it out for this weekend as well. All were single samplers I purchased a month ago that have had time to rest in my humidor.

Connie's & RASS.

I can't seem to catch the hype over the JL2's

I haven't had the RA Specially Selected yet. Of the other two, I'd say the Connie 1 is stronger, somewhat sharper and more in need of humidor time, whereas the JL2 is a lighter, dry hay and herbal summertime smoke. Excellent in construction and draw for both of them, so get the Connie 1 if you like the darker palate, and the JL2 if you like it lighter.

Of course, that's just my taste, I may have been drinking too much scotch lately . . . tongue.png
