A CCW user recently sent me these pictures of an old Punch cabinet (allegedly 1940s) wondering if I had any info about it. I didn't, but thought I'd post it here in case any of you do. For size reference it probably would have held around corona gorda size cigars.

Any info or comments most welcome.

It's a lovely cabinet. I like the thickness of the wood in those old ones. I know the owner was concerned about the stamp saying 'Made in Havana' rather than 'Made in Havana-Cuba'. I don't think there's any need for concern, there were lots of variations back then.

Yeah, this was the crux of why he contacted me. I agree that there's no concern. A piece like this, which probably wasn't standard packaging even in the 1940s, might well have been independently commissioned by a store, or made in a small batch by a contractor of the factory, or any number of other things leading to a variation of the stamps (which were more variable in the days of independent companies owning the brands anyway).
