I have been reading allot of articles on Cuba lately and on alt of those articles I read about these cigars. But yet on a couple different forms I am on I never hear anyone talk about these in any way good or bad. .

What is the story behind these cigars. Ate they not something that vertu many people order or enjoy.

Curious to hear what you all have to say about this cigar.

Please give me your input whether good or bad. Just want to learn more about this cigar.

Thanks

Do a search on Cuaba and read the thread started by El Prez for lots of comments. I don't know how to post a link to a thread within Tapatalk

I have half a box of Solomones

10 or so Generosos

7 2008 EL which are far better than some I have seen.

And a few other bits and pieces

Funny thing is all of the above are great cigars , however I simply find myself always smoking something else. It's like why would you take a kombi van for a drive when have a Porsche in the garage.

While I've enjoyed some in the past, recent ones have been too tight to smoke almost to a stick.

Former were mostly larger format, recent smaller so maybe that.....

Have to say that when they are on (and smokeable) I enjoy the profile for a change of pace.

funny you should say that.

if i can recall correctly (smallclub can always jump on me when i have a momentary lapse of reason ;)), the cuaba line was be a throwback to what the old Perfectos and styles of ye olde days. there was a hounding for those old tapered sticks that were always a hit with the masses. 1970s, give or take a decade, saw nice booms with those. and the maschine made sticks from yesteryear (Belvederes, chicos, entire range of Los Statos) all had the tapered end. but even include all the good sticks in that size! Remember the RyJ Celestial Finos?

shame they screwed that one up something fierce. i guess they just didn't have the skilled rollers that they used to.

Have to say that when they are on (and smokeable) I enjoy the profile for a change of pace.

that's the unfortunate part. my box of Divinos would all smoke well when they could produce smoke. i'd say a good 15 of them were plugged. This even extends to the Generoses and Tradicionals...

But then there's the price of those...... i mean, isn't that why we all stayed away from the 2008 LE? (the ones who enjoy Cuaba, anyways)

2008 EL smoking well at the moment.

My box of divinos can be a dream or a nightmare.

Agree with Maplepie: it's not the regular shape. I guess few rollers have the skill.

Tried the EL 2008 which is liked by many.

Was a fine smoke, well constructed...although the flavour profile simply didn't fit my palate.

That's Cuaba "over and out" for me.

I'm sure that they are discontinuing them sometime soon and then they will be all the rage!

honestly, i would discourage you from that.

one day, ask some of your mates for a divinos. they're cheap and quintessential Cuaba. after 3 and you still don't like em, then maybe put em off for a year before trying them again.

i would keep them on the list of the 'gotta try' if i were you.
