vinnyvega Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 I enjoy this cigar but something tells me that these can use a few more years to really shine. Any I have ever smoked are from ECA and are early 01. Anyone smoke these recently? On the decline or can use more time??
finecigar Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Welcome to FOH Vinnyvega! I would recommend to introduce yourself to the guys/gals here if you haven't already I have sampled a few super coronas but were very mild and muted flavor wise while one other did show a hint of potential. Loved the size of though...
dvickery Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 i have smoked 5 or 6 boxes from as far back as '94 ... i would use this cigar to define the term complex (in the cigar world) . have a few boxes from '02 ... would wait ... 2 years ago (the last box i opened) ... i felt they were getting there but still several years away from being there . i hope that made sense derrek
mk05 Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Was gifted a '98 from BV and it was a strong cigar with incredible complexity as dvickery said. Have some ECA 01 and 02 but they are not as "rich" as the '98 - still a lot of legs iirc. I think I smoked a handful last year.
sblevit Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Funny, I have a box from '96 (JM) and smoked one last night. They are rich and delicious. But it actually got a tad bitter towards the end. I can't imagine that they need to age any more than they already have.
johnhenry Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 One of my faves! And welcome vinny! Wish I could find a box ,I would let you know.
Habana Mike Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 I hated this cigar, well no, just the fact I smoked my last one quite some while ago and they're gone!
Smallclub Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 I've smoked my penultimate ECA 02 last week, it was fantastic, very smooth, clean and precise.
