Just a few days ago my 10 year old daughter Theresa

participated in a regional competition on the piano

and won first place after only 2 1/2 years of lessons.

As some of you know I am a concert violinist and at the time on concert tour myself that day

but we spoke on the phone as many times as my schedule allowed,

sure enough I was more nervous than she was and my lovely wife must have been beside herself.

Given her great talent I knew in advance she would be doing great

but when the results came through I was so full of pride.

Then my 7 year old son Johannes asked me yesterday:

"Dad, what is it about the cigars you like so much?"

I said: "What would you like to know?"

"Where they come from, the different sizes and so on..."

So I told him in brief about this and that.

Then he asked: "Would you care to show me some of the boxes so I can smell?"

So I did.

First I handed him a '05 Quai D'Orsay Panetela, he said:

"Hm, like brown leaves"

"Like Autumn, you mean?"

"Yes"

Next I grabbed a box of Rey del Mundo Demi Tasse.

"Much stronger!"

"Sweeter? I asked

"Yes, and more aromatic!"

Then an Upmann Royal Robusto:

"Oh I like the looks of these!

Dry nuts and hay!"

A genuine father and son moment!

I love them beyond words.

Cheers, Alex

Great story mate and congrats on educating you kids on the finer things in life. As a fellow professional classical musician and Father I can very much relate. Bravi tutti!

Very cool. Kudos and congrats.

It's getting close to the time when I can starting teaching my little ones piano, and I'll look forward to that stuff in the future as well.

Living vicariously through you right now, though. Way to go, sir.
