ptrthgr8 Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Do you think Bob Costas will get a T-shirt that reads "I went all the way to Sochi and all I got was a wicked case of pink eye?" Poor Bob. Poor, poor double pink-eyed Bob. Cheers, Greg Sent from my DROID RAZR MAXX HD 1
Smallclub Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 There's an Olympics on?? :S Yes but the gold medal of corruption has already been awarded, it's no longer interesting…
rckymtn22 Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Not much work getting done right now as Canada is watching men's hockey!
Mr.T Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Enjoy the Winter Olympics. I love watching the hockey as well as the luge, snowboarding, ski jumping and new free style skiing. For anyone watching the free style skiing does anyone understand a word they are saying because I sure as hell don't....good god it's another language. I love some of the commentating in the winter olympics. My favorite line so far is "that was a machine gun of awesomeness...."
Hypersomniac Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I haven't been able to watch much of it at all. I am able to catch a little bit of it on the days I do my cardio workout, and a little bit more when I am at my aunt and uncle's house. I don't have cable so I miss pretty much everything. I would watch it online but NBC won't let me. Oh yeah, they also don't air things when they are happening and overall make the olympics suck as far as watching them goes. Oh well, I am going to try and catch some curling tonight.
rckymtn22 Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 As much as people complain about CBC, their coverage has been awesome. Almost every event and game shown on TV or streamed. Plus streamed for free! 1

Some of the events seem more X-games than Olympic games.

My favorite line so far; Ron McLain closing his commentary about Men's Figure Skating.... "We expect big things to come from the Men's Shorts tonight."
Fosgate Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Have not been able to watch much other than reports complaining about their accommodations while meanwhile we still have soldiers sleeping outdoors, tents, connexes etc with people that want to kill them who don't complain. Also saw Bob Costa stick his foot in mouth yet again over politics. Maybe with any luck his pinkeye will be fatal and contagious because his replacement isn't much better. Would just like to have a decent sports announcer that doesn't feel the need to push their political beliefs on their viewers. I guess what do we expect from a guy who has never played sports and just announced them all his life.

alloy Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 The hockey does it for me. Team USA just beat Team Russia 3-2 in a shootout. What a game! 1
dpodiluk Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Too bad US and Russia are in the same hockey pool. Also +1 for the CBC coverage, I stream as much as I can while at work.
DrunkenMonkey Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Maybe with any luck his pinkeye will be fatal and contagious That's a bit harsh. 1

Are you serious? For what I've heard (in Europe) journalists and officials aren't complaining about the lack of comfort, but they complain about the level of corruption that makes the most expensive Games in history are not able to provide drinking water or a door in the toilet… Your comparison with the soldiers is just displaced, nobody chose the military life with comfort in mind, AFAIK…
Orion21 Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Putin's girlfriend lit the flame, while his wife sits in a convent of her "own free will." Enough said.

The Sochi issues are hilarious. I really fail to see your point.

How about you go over a do a better job for the NBC team from America.
Fosgate Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I was addressing smallclub's response with my last post. And I am a veteran who loves my country and once wrote a check for up to including my life to defend it and hates NBC's coverage of sporting events. Let's see if they can get this right this time. http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/08/02/us-nbc-olympics-defense-idUSBRE8711FB20120802 http://www.deadline.com/2012/08/nbc-olympic-coverage-mistakes-jesse-eisenberg-for-facebooks-mark-zuckerberg/ http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nbc-top-five-questionable-choices-coverage-olympic-games-115100091--oly.html 1

I think we get your point already.
