cottierm Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Since I am back in the old country, I am wondering if there are any good Swiss regionals worth trying. Any input would be welcome! Best, Michel
Perla Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 PL Val. are very nice, some choco and citrus flavor. Nice in the summer ERDM Elegantes are great nice toffee nut taste RA Esp. have a bit loose draw but very nice taste and I find strong bugger (and you won't find any of them) VR petite Unicos - wrote a review about it and "Bahnhofstrasse" wrote something about it as well Punch Classico = very very good Bolivar Presidentes =?? read some nice reviews about it. 1
Surucipe Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Punch Classicos are very nice but pricey and the vitola (182 mm - 50 RG) takes more time than I usually have to smoke a cigar. The RA Especiales are excellent but as Perla already mentioned quite hard to find.
Perla Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 As I don't know where you are located in Switzerland, but most of the RE you will find in Kreuzlingen. If you have the time you can try them before you buy. The Punch are really pricey but worth it, if you enjoy or have the time for a longer smoke. 1
Lotusguy Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I LOVED the PL Valiosos and I really enjoyed the VR Petit Unicos. The LGC Triunfos was good, but didn't taste like a LGC. The ERDM Elegantes was really nice. Didn't have a chance yet to try the other swiss RE.
straizor Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 i agree with perla. if anyone has them all, then its definetly portmann in kreuzlingen. the JL maximos is also a great cigar, wood and fruit flavors. portmann has still some boxes of those. if you'r lucky and find the RA eminencia. best swiss ER imho. the LGC valeroso are also on the pricier side but great never the less. you'll get the most bang for the buck (the cigar which are still available) is the ERDM elegantes imho. have fun looking for them and trying them
Bahnofstrasse Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Perla has it nailed... I also agree with Lotus regarding the LGC as not being your typical LGC blend. I would add the 08 JL Maximos to the list which are smoking very well. These, along with the PL Val, have been my 2 personal favorite Suiza RE's
Wid3y Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Picked up a few of these in Zurich and can confirm they were amazing.. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 1
dangolf18 Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Samnaun usually has a backlog of regionals. Then again, it's quite a trek to get there.
Hiroshiro Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Skip the LGC. Not worth it And thats coming from the LGC guy LOL
