Franko Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Walking in la Casa del habano in Mexico and saw Belinda and troya in tubos tough they were fakes any toughs and them!! Help me any info for me?? Thx
CUBANO Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Just buy a couple of each and try them out. I have both and I like them as a cheap and cheerful cigar.
JY0 Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 If it was an LCDH, it's very unlikely they were fake. What made you think they were? That said , IMO they are truly awful cigars. ;+)
Hohenthal Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I think the costs of counterfiting cheap and cheerful cigars like these would not pay off IMO. Anyway, both are current machine made CC's. Cheers, Alex
CaptainQuintero Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I've found the belinda quite sour and tend to have quite a lot of poorly fermented tobacco. The Troya however are great sweet and rich little sticks, they get harsh after the first half but that first half is very pleasant, especially if you're short on time and just want a 15 minute hit. Heartily recommend picking up some Troya coronas Club for the price you can't really go wrong, a big step up from Guants.
Franko Posted January 8, 2014 Author Posted January 8, 2014 Thx guys mait go back and buy few!! Wondering on bouth..
Smallclub Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 The Piedra line is 100x better than these, IMHO, and probably even cheaper…
Franko Posted January 8, 2014 Author Posted January 8, 2014 Saw them to small but I think there's not a lot of beli and troya any more!! Like to get rare stuff, any thoughs and d fonsecas??
JY0 Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Rare means a limited supply. Some are are because everyone buys them. Some are rare because few want them and as a result few are produced. For a less expensive smoke try a Partagas Short or a Ramon Allones Small Club Corona.
Jnaube Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 For a cheap but good smoke, you can always go for a PL Montecarlos. I find these are a steal every time I light one.
Smallclub Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 btw, Belinda and Troya are ICT machine made cigars, they were deleted from HSA porfolio in 2005… (check cubancigarwebsite.com)
cigcars Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I've had both Belinda and Troya tubos - they're in plastic tubes - and found them quite flavorful for the price!
garbandz Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Had good and bad ones, good ones were ok,bad ones were dismal. Agree the Piedra is a better choice, and Quinteros are also better ....... If you want truly disgusting............Guantanamera........
finecigar Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Not a big fan of either. Unpleasant and one dimensional from my experience. Would much rather go for some PL, RG, or Quintero cheapies!
surly Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I recently tried a Belinda Coronas just to be a completist. I wasn't expecting much in the first place, but whatever the cigar may have tasted like, it was ruined by the awful stink from the plastic tube it came in. The tube had a really foul chemical odour - the same as cheap stuff you find in the dollar store made in some Chinese gulag. Not only did the tube stink up the cigar inside, it also imparted the bad smell to the other cigars it shipped with. Fortunately they aired out a bit and weren't ruined. I did try the Belinda but it just tasted like the nasty plastic tube. Needless to say I wont be trying one again, or any other cigar that comes in a plastic tube. Anyone else had this experience?
