The 898 and Shorts are amazing cigars. The D4 can absolutely be hit or miss, but the 898 and Shorts are very consistent. The 898 would be my pick because they are amazing with age and I love the lonsdale profile. Shorts are excellent 30-40 minute cigars with a good coffee.

p2 is one partagas i will not buy, d4 is far superior especially 2012 and on

avoid lusis as well

buy d4s, presidentes, shorts, 898s and i had a SUPERB d5 this past weekend from 2013, was very very good shockingly

Just finished my first Partagas short now and am gutted I never tried before. Wow It was superb! In general how does the short flavour profile compare with the D4?

D4s, Shorts and 898s when they're on. D4s are consistently good, though.

898's are one of my favorite cigars and party shorts are my favorite minutos. D4's are a hit or miss like everyone says, I've had some with fireproof wrappers this year. I would go for the 898's.

D4s are rolled all over the place, but if you find POL, OGA or MUR - by all means

if you can find some aged D4 they are awsome as well

for me lusis and p2s are the worst cigars partagas makes

so in this thread you pretty much have the entire partagas lineup being recommended lol

I know it may not help, but my favorite partagas are 898s and shorts.

Get a HQ or PSP box of D4s ∨ Lusis.

You can't go wrong with either IMO.

Samples or ten count boxes might help you out, as theres no consensus. Though the shorts is a must :-)
