AussieCanuck Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I've definitely always enjoyed the warmer weather for smoking a cigar ( comfy chair, cold beer or rum etc) but find the cold can be just as enjoyable. Dress appropriately, take a shorter time cigar and breathe in the cool air. Sometimes I find the cigars even have more flavor . Anyone else in the same boat ? Here's a few pics just taken as I stepped outside on a study break. This is on a trail just a few steps from my front door.....cigar is an Upmann Mag 46. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
AussieCanuck Posted December 4, 2013 Author Posted December 4, 2013 Ha....just saw Canadianbeaver's post. Seems the cold is on other people's mind too ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Rye Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 If I hated the cold, is have to move! Gorgeous pics there! My lunchtime was much the same, but colder and whiter and there is no open water until spring now.

TiminBC Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I can enjoy a good cigar as long as I am not rushed or too cold. I seem to be able to handle down to zero Celsius without too much trouble as long as it is not windy. So much of a really good cigar experience is external to the cigar. For me the location , company and time of the day can affect my enjoyment. While I enjoy cigars at all times of the day I seem to enjoy them just a little more near the end of the day when I have nothing further to do. I do not think I can say cigars are consistently better when it a little colder but neither are they any worse. I used to dive allot in both cold water and warm water. I really enjoyed cold water diving but there were times when the simplicity of not have to wear so much gear felt like a luxury.
MIKA27 Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Good question. I love the cold weather, snow in winter, ICE and the like no problem. When I lived in Europe, I got used to the cold weather. What I dislike here in Melbourne is not so much the cold, it's the wind and Chill factor associated which I find difficult to enjoy a cigar in. In comparison, the weather in Melbourne is nothing compared to other countries which have REAL winters with snow, BUT it is this chill factor which bumps up the unpleasantness. Nice pictures by the way, I envy you!
Colt45 Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 40'F or above, sunny, no wind - I can cope. Otherwise, it's more of a chore - I get little enjoyment.
CaptainQuintero Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I think it's the Danish part of me but I love the cold (not wet or windy) apart from for cigars I look forward to the winter months. My ideal day is fresh snow with no wind and a warm winter sun In summer I'm like a dog with a long coat, feet in buckets of water and panting
Nedule Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 -30 C in my area right now, my only refuge is the heated shed.
madandana Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Nice pics. No. I just can't get relaxed and enjoy sitting in the cold.
LordAnubis Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 All you guys obviosuly didnt have enough Vegemite in formotive years. Heres me in the Atlas mountains... it had snowed the night before as we were climbing up... and im in my shorts. Was frikking cold when the wind picked up though. This is the second time in my life i have ever seen snow hence the grin of a 13 year old boy unclipping a girls bra for the first time.
Surucipe Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 I love winter and snow for skiing, snowshoe hikes, etc... but not so much for cigars. Only short sticks for me in winter, for me it's the time to bring out the Half Coronas, Reyes, Sig I.
canadianbeaver Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 So funny- I live in the snow belt of our area and adore looking at the scenery. But I hate going outside in in the cold.
